Watch: Queen Elizabeth II shocked by ‘very rude’ Chinese officials ahead of state visit

Not sure but most Chinese I know don't drink tea with ice. @TaiShang @AndrewJin
Never drink cold stuff for breakfast.
Always drink hot green tea in spring, autumn and winter.
In summer, drink Hong Kong style iced milk tea outside (sometimes junk drinks like soda) or hot tea inside an A/C room.
I'm very sure 99% Chinese don't drink iced water all the year around.

I often drink milk tea or lemon black tea in the morning.

The breakfast stores almost never sell sodas.

Lunch time I prefer to drink soup.
Yes, never have I seen iced stuff sold in breakfast store, at most cold soy bean milk(no ice inside).
Any kind of iced food according to Chinese medicine and Chinese way of pursuit longevity is extremely harmful to digestive system. Think about zero degree water pouring onto the internal surface of your stomach.

Just got a cup of hot soybean milk for lunch, LOL.

Yep, hot soybean milk or very simple soup, ideal for lunch, and several dishes of vegetable with a little meat.
For dinner, more complicated soup is prepared!

I think the Hk people and Taiwanese are the only ones who drink sodas and sugary cold drinks on a regular basis.

Not that much, really. As I said breakfast or lunch restaurants do not often have soda option.

The most common places you can find sodas are foreign chain restaurants and hot pot restaurants where you are offered soda along with other drinks.

But sometimes this is so tempting...:D

In hot pot restaurants here, number one choice is 王老吉 or 加多宝,tea drinks!
Drinking cold tea can make you feel more comfortable and protect you from 上火(on fire?) when u eat spicy spicy food.

I am a Chinese-American. I can speak, read, write Chinese.

Well, you have to bare in mind that the Chinese government is also kind of different from its people. The way some Chinese act abroad has been condemned by their own leaders and their government have been so embarrassed by the way some of their citizens /tourists act abroad so much so that they have even issued a code of conduct for their tourists to respect and behave when they travel abroad. This shows the government is aware of the problem and is trying it's best it can to address that, though it's true there is only so much a government can do, the people are the ones to decide how to behave at the end of the day. We should not forget that China is still a developing country who was closed from the outside world for decades and was as poor if not more poor than north Korea less than 4 decades ago , not a developed by open one like the west, and so we ought to give them time to learn and adapt. :)

Moreover, the the fact that the Chinese government totally censored this news in China shows that they don't want any controversy about this back home and they must be aware it was a faux pas on their part so better move on and forget about it while Iearning from such mistakes so as not to repeat them in future. :)

Oh well, not in a way these people will understand, but hey, some time you have to accept that just me and you talking about it won't solve anything.
