A symbolic gesture, in sign of respect to UK, no big deal. Past is past.
No one with a braincell or two believes BD is a British colony.

Slave mentality common among Indians and Bangladeshis unfortunately.

This is the same UK that committed genocide in modern-day Bangladesh not long ago.

I noticed it's more common in Indians and maybe even Bangladeshis & Sri Lankans.

With Pakistanis i notice upper middle class & elite muhajirs and Sindhis have this white-washed mentality the most. Mostly the darker complexioned people amongst them, including many lower-caste converted to Christianity

This desire to be experts at English and promoting it like hell in Pakistan.

Somebody made a Quora post about some people claiming they hail from specific places in India and have a strong presence in the Pakistani elite economic class.

Even with Indians. They blame the British for their problems but want to master English and get the highest degrees at Oxford and other British universities.

It reminds my of an inquiry someone made online years ago (can't remember where) asking why Iranians hate Arabs yet plenty want to claim descent from the Prophet Muhammad, want to incorporate religious phrases from Arabic, want to expertise on Arabic religious texts etc.
