You can't be serious. Clearly you don't have any idea what the atmosphere was like in late 2001 after the attacks. Al-Qaeda (and maybe the Taliban) were the targets. No one knew who Pakistan was nor did they care. In fact, they were largely portrayed as an ally by the media. At least until things started to go south and the US decided to get closer to India because of China towards the end of the decade.

I might also add that NATO and many countries including Canada invaded Afghanistan, not just the U.S. It was not solely an American venture as you are portraying it:

Yes, America is still the only one there. However, that does not mean that it was the only one that invaded and fought. All those countries did.

I assure you that the US did not invade Afghanistan for morphine/heroin/drugs. We have a very strict, if somewhat unsuccessful, drug policy here. Nor did it do so for Pakistan.

Even as a joke, that's a bit insulting to suggest given the events of September 2001. People wanted to take out Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda. The US government may have also had designs on the Taliban given their isolationist nature and potential to harbor future terrorists in the rugged countryside.

I'm not saying America is perfect, or that it succeeded. They made many mistakes. But you really have to twist things in an incredible way to think that anything other than Al-Qaeda/Taliban were the motivations for the invasion. Not just America, but the other countries too.
