While dutyfree vegetable import is hurting Pakistan farmer!
You probably have no clue of the magnitude of vegetable import we are talking here...
Issue is not limited to import... RAW is already every where in Pakistan bureaucracy and are blocking all technical and marketing support to local farmers, those stooges also not allow quality check on imports from India.
While Indian vegetables are leading to cancer and decline in immunity, resulting increased visits to hospitals.
Ever since import from India started. Pakistani hospitals have seen increased visitors.
In Switzerland govt. protect its farmers with subsidies, banning imports and marketing local produce.
Why Pakistan can't protect its own farmers or industry?
All what Pakistan need from India is its own share of water and grow more vegetables locally.

Well that's what Pakistan is doing for quite some time now. A transit via Dubai cost then double or triple on Indian goods when they have the better option of trade via International Boarder. But I guess some decisions makers there are not good with economics.

According to last year's govt documents we sent about 4.1billion USD to India, and earned roughly 0.6 billion from India ,a 3.5 billion trade deficit,mean while we don't had 0.6 billions to pay for F16s ,this is the documented thing and who knows how much went to India through UAE transit transfers for joint projects with L.mittal groups ,on the other hand we were very Happy and proud to announce that KSA has given us 1.5 USD as a garnt or zakat ,God for give me , please guys note it that I'm not a Imran Khan's advocate.

Your government could have easily cut down on the cost by around 2 billion, if they had full directly trade between India via IB. While the same goods enter your market via Dubai and some being smuggled over from Afghanistan.
