What's new

VN-1 Wheeled APCs are we Getting Them in Big Numbers!!

Hamza offers 8x8 as well so we wouldn't even have to go for a different 8x8 either.
I would also love for the local govt and pvt sector to join hands for such projects. However, considering what I have seen here w.r.t timeline to get things done. It is better to first buy off the shelf new european/SA/Turkish or second hand ex Iraq/AFG US MRAPs to get the ball rolling for FC. Otherwise we would be stuck with a lot of casualties and a cheap wild cat copy as a prototype in the end again ( I also saw the video of the vehicle, it was ridiculous).

Later on we can then move for Hino/Other truck conversion and further to full scale MRAP.

The love for Toyota Vehicles by the Pakistani general public and military is unprecedented. Even abroad they mostly buy Toyota. They are happy to go to their graves with Toyota.
Cuz Resale. Hilux blown to bits by IED can still be sold at 75% invoice price.

What is wrong with Toyota? Its the most reliable vehicles used globally ever made.
I totally agree with you, they are the most reliable cars on the road .But I have only seen Militias send defenceless unprotected pick ups in the hostile zones, not the professional armies! We have lost countless fine men because of this strategy unfortunately.

there are benefits of light vehicles and they are speed and availibility.

Toyotas were used by IS in Iraq and Syria as lightening fast assault vehicles. Had it not been for US air power, today it would probably occupy most of Iraq and Syria. Never discount these light trucks. If I had x amount of dollars, and could choose to spend them on toyota technicals or tanks, I'd choose the former not the latter.

Never discount these light trucks.
As we have a insatiable love for Toyotas, maybe we can provide our men with some added protection like below..

Or like this..

Or if we intend to do a high speed shoot and scoot maybe Hilux can be modified with different guns, ATGMs, rocket launchers or AAMs on the Toyota below!

In Libya some big AAGs on a humble Toyota.

To put that kind of heavy equipment would defeat the purpose of a Toyota. A fast and light toyota has 101 benefits. Here is one for example - they can drive over mines without setting them off - at high speed, such mines remain incapable of detonation.

What happens now when you make them fat and heavy? Boom.

As I said, 101 benefits... just described 1.

The real issue is Pak doesn't have a blitzkreig war strategy. They want to take 10 km then stop their assault and consolidate. If they reach Bikaner (which they won't given their equipment and doctrine choices), they would rather stop their assault and clear Bikaner than get the forward forces to continue the assault and later units to consolidate. It's a mental framework problem.

But PA is much better of than Turkey's TSK. Never seen a force more deliberate and slow than them. No real maneuver or strategy. Absolutely zero surprise. No initiative. Just dumb pounding and moving.

No one knows why. A home grown solution would be best but PA gens love Cheeni toys.
Must be very sour for a foreigner like you to lecture how real Pakistanis shall progress. Maybe you can ask US to sell military hardware to Pakistan at discount but always with condition.

What is wrong with Toyota? Its the most reliable vehicles used globally ever made.
It's not suitable for proper conventional warfare. They lack armour and military protection.
