Some stuff in the pipeline, damn finance always gets in the way.

In current economic situation, Army can not depend on government to allocate large sums of money for defense. Army need to invest in side businesses, for example, halal meat exports, Fauji meat LTD to earn $$$.

We already have a lot already, Egyptians are doing this with not so fancy results. The duty of any Armed force is matters of defence and not Finance. Running a two tier parallel economy creates grievances and corruption.

Chinese are doing that and they are successful. why can’t we? Army foundation can invest in Automotive industry and put Toyota, Honda and Suzuki out of business or bring healthy competition.
Indian TATA Group has a separate IT division and it’s making money for TATA.
We have the most unprofessional and non-serious people running the government.

Saudis and emiratis are paying for egyptians not their meat processing units.
That said Fauji foundation is a welfare corporate body and doesnt fund military budget and such program are being run by several global militaries.

Bro i am not comparing EA with PA. The Egyptian Army control approximately 50% of the State economy. I recently went to Egypt after 25 years this year and was deeply appalled by the state of the common folk. The infrastructure was dilapidated and corruption was rife. Pakistan and Pakistanis are hundred times better than the state of Egypt.

I totally agree with you, even the Taliban were quicker(trained by pa)in the 90s. Their blitzkreig from Herat to Mazar e shareef and to Kunduz was phenomenal.

taliban were not facing three army commands of indian army. plz take enemy strength into consideration.

Egypt is a complete basket case. normal EA soldier does not even have enough to eat. It is beyond shocking the state of affairs in that country.

Pakistan is in need of APCs since the time when the Taliban were a few kilometres away from our capital. We have lost multiple generals and brigadiers due to insecure transport. IEDs and suicide bombings left and right.

We still need them badly now, specially after we have seen that our soldiers are martyred in Balochistan in a 2005 Toyota pick up frequently. If we cannot get our relationship with Iran straight, or cannot root out the presence of RAW from Balochistan, then I think APCs will be a good investment. I hope Chinese APCs are reliable enough to withstand multiple IEDs and suicide attacks because we will need that.

Not buying APCs, and at the same time, quietly sustaining soldier casualties to foreign funded groups round the clock, is just laughable at this point.

Man, why dont you get so much surplus buffels or casspirs - dirt cheap - they can take any ied/landmine thrown at them.

APCs are not designed to withstand IEDs ... not to mention multiple of them. You need a MRAP for that. An IED would ruin an APC just as easily as any other armored vehicle.
