Most of the early "peers" were very respectable people in regards to their knowledge of worldly and spiritual affairs. Sadly modren day so called "peers" are just as cancerous as "mullahs". The modren " pir" practices are unsavory and should be unacceptable, unfortunately the populus loves the the extraordinary with a pinch of deceit.

While what people do in the mazaars of pirs is a desecration and spitting on the face of what these people stood for.

The Awliyah spread the Islam in the Indian subcontinent, this is why terrorist sympathisers don't like them. If dodgy practises take place at darbars then the government needs to ban them. The scholars of Islam always tell people not to involve themselves in haram practises in darbars, mosques, houses, in their daily lives but people don't listen. We live in testing times.

I agree many Pirs are fraud but so are religious leaders and establishment molvis, and so are our political leaders, media, lawyers, judges. Alot of society left the true path, and are following materialism. We need to come back on the true Islam followed by our ancestors, not the Islam which screams shirk shirk on Muslims.
