I don't think Republic of Vietnam will be good for Vietnam. I'm afraid that big country can infiltrate 2 parties system by helping one party over another. I think Vietnam should restore King, and below the King is democracy, same as Thailand, and British. Is there any Nguyen linage still left?

I even personally know a man who is the great great great...grandchild of the second emperor of the Nguyen dynasty: Minh Mạng. but the emperor was famous of having many wives and children. the children of the Nguyen´s have books to keep all records. So no problem for the Nguyen´s to chose the successor.

I agree. Viet Nam should be restore its old Imperial system -- as a Constitutional Monarchy. It would ensure historical legitimacy of the new government.
