What's new

Vietnam devalues currency by 8.5 percent

I don't understand what you're trying to say? Are you implying that you know more of my history than myself?

Does the title say anything about India?

Get lost!

What is the need to read history to understand your thinking? You yourself admitted that you tore the dong and kept one half to yourself. What value was that torn dong to you? Now shut up and stop disgracing yourself.

. .
China and Japan for the moment specialize on completely different things. There's almost no competitions on the export front between China and Japan. China and South Korea on the other hand are competitors, so are South Korea and Japan.

Pertinent point. I am sorry bro. I am busy right now on another forum. Something very interesting. Several apologies. I will take up this discussion from here as soon as possible.

Sigh... why did they make the report post button so close to the thank button?

 to the new layout.

Dont know about their inflation but definitely boost their exports to help them to tackle tha balance of payment problems, which in turn to invest in development and growth i guess.

Lmao! Let me get this straight, you responded to this thread like some smarta$$ even though you clearly didn't know what you were talking about. Cardsharp asked you a question which you couldn't respond to, and even provided a link to legitimize his argument... and you..."suddenly found another interesting forum in which to enlighten the masses and must go?"

Lol! Seriously buddy... like the previous guy said... GET LOST!!! You made an complete a$$ of yourself.

Back in 1974, even you would have needed the torn "dong". Don't you think or should we go down the memoray lane?

I can only disgrace myself when I have to answer to Indian like you. But this one is on me, buddy!

No, not crazy. Vietnam is trying to eliminate its' trade deficit. By devaluing its' currency, it would make imported products more expensive and in term can make its domestic product appear cheaper. Bring the trade gap more closer. Inflation can still be a problem, but if Vietnam is more self reliant on its domestic product, eventually the trade gap would be positive. This in hopes, might lead to more controllable currency as far as inflation and deflation is concern.

And if laowai thinks that Standard Chinese (Mandarin) is hard to learn, they should try learning Cantonese. :D

Although to be fair, some Westerners can do it very well.

This one for example, speaks like a native Hong Konger: Youtube link.

Cantonese is the language when people sound like they are saying "Nigga" a lot right?.. nigga, nigga, nigga

No, not at all.

What you're referring to is specifically the Beijing "accent" of Mandarin. Not Standard Mandarin or Cantonese.

In Beijing accent: "Nei ge". In Standard Mandarin: "Na ge". In Cantonese: "Naa go".

I didn't realize it was an accent thing until you posted it, but you're right Na Ge is the more standard way of saying "that"
