you compare vietnam to north korea? you have really humor.
is indonesia now a superpower rivaling to china? you make fun of the chinese?

as I said if China stops buying your commodities, you are more dead than alive because 60% of your exports are commodities. and the chinese are in very bad mood now after you refused to join the new infrastructure bank.
by the way I bet our exports will surpass yours in the next 1-2 year.

You dumbass if Indonesia's economy fall guess what will happens to the entire ASEAN region:

Here's a visual aid to help your commy feeble mind.

& That cone is you. :haha:

If you think Economy is some sort localized event you're dead wrong. Its global. When 1 country fall the others will follow. The bigger the country more countries will be dragged down too. Just look at China & us. Just because their economy slowing down it affect us & the rest of you lot to a certain degree.

Vietnam so far is one of our weakest link in the group. You're just like Bart Simpsons by dragging the rest of us down with you.

China should reward its loyal puppets in the Viet government for doing China's dirty work. The Viets jailed this guy for 12 years for anti-China sentiment! Talk about loyal Vietnamese little brothers.

Vietnam blogger jailed for posts about China deported to US

Nguyen Van Hai, known online as Dieu Cay, freed from prison after being jailed in 2012 for ‘anti-state propaganda’

One of Vietnam’s best-known dissidents has been released from prison and deported to the US, where he has promised to fight to return to his home country.

Blogger Nguyen Van Hai, 62, known online as Dieu Cay, was jailed in 2012 for 12 years for disseminating “anti-state propaganda” related to his internet posts, a sentence rights activists allege was little more than trumped-up charges for his critical views on China.

“My father was the first to talk about China’s intentions [towards Vietnam],” Hai’s son Nguyen Tri Dung told the Committee to Protect Journalists last month. “Now, everybody is saying what he said about China, even government leaders.”

Hai was one of the first to criticise China’s encroaching influence over Vietnam, particularly over sovereignty issues. But the view has gained far greater hold in recent months, with anti-China riots in various cities highlighting Hanoi’s battles with Beijing over the South China Sea, which holds rich oil and gas reserves. It is believed that US senator John McCain – a former prisoner of war in Vietnam – may have helped secure Hai’s release during a visit to the country in August.

The US – which has warmed relations with Hanoi greatly as part of its “Asia pivot”, even recently ending a lethal-weapon sales ban – said it welcomed Vietnam’s decision to release Hai, considered a prisoner of conscience.

“We have consistently called for his release and the release of all other political prisoners in Vietnam,” said spokeswoman Marie Harf.

A founder of Vietnam’s Club for Free Journalists, which was set up as an alternative to state-controlled news, Hai has been in and out of detentions since 2007. Increasingly unwell, he fought against his alleged ill treatment in prison by going on repeated hunger strikes.

Just how Hai has ended up in America – rather than his home town of Saigon – is still unclear. According to the US state department, it was Hai’s decision to travel to America. But even Hai himself, and his family, recount a different tale. Speaking to Radio Free Asia, Hai’s ex-wife said he was removed suddenly from his jail cell, taken to the airport and put on a plane to Los Angeles – without any prior warning.

“They did not let [his] family know anything about his release. There was no signal or notice,” she said, claiming he phoned them briefly while in transit in Hong Kong to tell them the news. “They deported him to exile, they did not release him.”

According to Hai, Vietnam sent him abroad on Washington’s wishes.

“This trip is the decision of the US government,” he told reporters in Los Angeles. “The US government wants me to become a citizen of the US but I don’t understand why the Vietnamese government wants to deport me.”

He vowed to fight for his return back to Vietnam, as well as the return of all other Vietnamese exiles in America.

Hai is the second high-profile dissident to be welcomed in America this year. French-trained lawyer Cu Huy Ha Vu, a vocal critic of the ruling Communist party, was released from prison earlier this year and moved to the US in April.

Activists applauded Hai’s release but expressed concern over the conditions of his departure.

“It’s very good news that blogger Dieu Cay is free, but no one should forget for an instant that he should never have been in prison in the first place,” said Phil Robertson, deputy director of Human Rights Watch’s Asia division. “The Vietnam government severely persecuted him for years because he was brave enough to voice his opinions and tell inconvenient truths that leaders in Hanoi didn’t want spreading via the internet among the Vietnamese people. They should not receive applause for forcing him into exile as the price of his freedom.”

Some 26 other bloggers are still detained in Vietnam, according to Reporters Without Borders, which calls the country “the world’s third biggest prison for netizens”.

It looks like all you Chinese don't know how to read and comprehend Basic English. Let me educate you a little. First, it says was jailed in 2012 for 12 years. His sentence for the crime is for 12 years but he was released in just 2 years. Has it been 12 years yet? you ignorant pricks. Read the entire article before you make a fool out of yourself. This is a sign that Vietnam is changing to be more closer with the US.

:disagree: .....i sid it before, the VCP is a sham. Since they are communist(modeled and make their policies following their patron in china), they will never want to take drastic measures against china, since for them the communist party always comes before the state. Hence they will always favour better relations with their patron the CCP despite the vietnamese public objections.. So thats why i believe Vietnam will never be a U.S ally per say , since the VCP is scared of a U.S color revolution. unlike other democracies in asia like philippines. Japan etc.

Vietnamese need to get rid of their communist government if they ever want protest freely and stand up tp china. Since VCP wont really, They will only allow anti china protests when they have no choice/are under intense pressure, but behind the scenes they always seek a rapprochment with CCP. :disagree:

They are moving towards American and away from China. The blogger, his early released is a symbol of human rights and freedom which is in the work of the Vietnamese government. It means there's hope for the Vietnamese community.

Jesus Christ! Stop trying to defend your Tyrannical government the guy were released thanks to pressure from the US.
Hai’s case has been adopted by the U.N. Working Group on Arbitrary Detention and raised by U.S. President Barack Obama, whose administration has been callng on Hanoi to release all political prisoners in Vietnam.

Just forget about he was released 10 years earlier when he isn't suppose to be imprisoned in the 1st place!

Twenty-six other citizen journalists held in Vietnam

Paris-based press freedoms watchdog Reporters Without Borders, which lists Vietnam as an “Enemy of the Internet,” said it was relieved to learn of Hai's release but pointed out that 26 other citizen journalists are still held in Vietnam, the world’s third biggest prison for netizens.

“We are delighted to know that Dieu Cay is free and no longer has to fear for his health, which suffered from the mistreatment he received in detention,” said Benjamin Ismaïl, the head of the Reporters Without Borders Asia-Pacific Desk. “We hope he will not be kept apart from his family and that ways will be found for him to be reunited with those who have waited courageously for him for more than six years.”

Lucie Morillon, Reporters Without Borders program director, added: “We would like to stress that 26 other bloggers and citizen journalists are still being held for exercising their right to freely inform their fellow citizens and the entire world about the human rights situation in Vietnam."

"We again urge the authorities to free all detained netizens.”

Vietnam is ranked 174th out of 180 countries in the 2014 Reporters Without Borders press freedom index.

First, Vietnam was China's ally and they were defending you communist from USA. Then something happen in between and became enemies. Then Chinese government running around causing trouble in the South China Sea which causes more tension between the two. So what do you expect Vietnam is going to do? Second, the guy was jailed in 2012 because at that time Vietnam was probably still respect you Chinese but now I guess that respect is gone. That's why he was released early due to US pressure but because Vietnam also want something else but not from China. All I could say is, you Chinese f.&&k it up for yourself. Simple. Stop your nonsense and read between the lines.

You're missing the whole point. Who cares how long the jail sentence was or if he got released early. The takeaway message is, a Vietnamese citizen was arrested by the Vietnamese government for insulting China. China couldn't ask for more from our savage little Vietnamese brothers. :yahoo:

That's already a very good living condition, I can only eat a steamed bun per day.
poor you. that is sad. if I recall, you told me you earn money as construction worker. your hands and fingers must look awful. I wonder how you can find free time and contribute on this forum?

VCP and CPC are very close despite fighting each other. They have a little brother vs big brother relationship. They can fight and hate each other but they are still family and have a special bond.

VCP is more pro-CPC than other Han Chinese governments like Hong Kong or Taiwan.

When big brother CPC pushes around little brother VCP to show who is the big brother, little brother gets angry because little brother want the power and respect big brother has.

That's why Chinese men prefer to marry Viet girls than from other Han Chinese places like Hong Kong or Taiwan. It's partly due to income disparity but there is more of a bond between Vietnam and Mainland China than Mainland and Hong Kong/Taiwan.

Yep, at least VCP is firmly agreeing with CPC's model of politics and economies.

There is some feud between the big brother and the little brother, but the little brother still admires the success of the big brother.

They imitate cpc but cannot emulate.

They can make Vietnam richer if they can pay more respect to their big brother.

Just keep dreaming, even most Viet members won't agree with you.
