Various uplift projects completed in frontier region Peshawar

PESHAWAR (December 23, 2010) : The Political Administration of frontier region (FR) Peshawar has installed four irrigation systems in various Janakor villages that would irrigate 800 acres of agricultural land.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate of Information, Fata Secretariat on Wednesday, these four irrigation channels, 1000 meter each, will irrigate 800 acres of agricultural land for the Janakor villages of Saeed Abbas Kili, Jabar Donga, Ismael Kota Khel and Wakeel Kaili of Mandai area of FR Peshawar.

The completed project will benefit 375 families and 3000 individuals of the four communities. Moreover, at the request of community elders of the Zaka Khel sub-tribe, the political administration has constructed 150 latrines across nine neighbouring Zaka Khel villages that will benefit 600 families and 4800 individuals of the area. These are densely populated villages of FR Peshawar, and were facing public health problems due to contaminated water. The residents had been facing hardship due to non-availability of latrine facilities.
