Uzbek president to arrive in Islamabad for two-day visit on Thursday

اک ولولہ تازہ دیا میں نے دلوں کو لاہور سے تا خاک بخارا و سمر قند

Shair-e-Mashrik ki Walwalay se murad pipeline hay.

Perhaps working on the shortest route for a gas pipeline:
Next may be visit by Tajikistan authorities!

It will be lot better if existing China-Russia pipelines are extended into Pakistan. Having one world power supplying gas, with transit provided by a super power, is completely different ball game with zero chance of disruption as opposed to some weak states as provider (that include Iran as well) with having of all countries, Afghanistan providing the transit!

Aside from DAWN, our English media is way better than our Urdu media. Our glorious Urdu media is full of journalists who are always sucking off either PPP or PMLN. Additionally, most of the time our Urdu media lacks objective analysis and gives unnecessary attention to ridiculous conspiracy theories. BBC Urdu and DW Urdu aren't Pakistani so they don't count.
BBC Urdu is mouth piece of Indian establishment. The sheer amount of negative articles/vlogs coming out of BBC urdu against Pakistan is staggering. DW is no better and their track record clearly points to a bias against Pakistan.

Issue with that may be the Himalayas!
Koh-e-Hindu Kash may be easier to traverse.

Like I said BBC and DW aren't Pakistani so they don't count. Now, look how Pakistani English media such as The Express Tribune, The News International, Profit by Pakistan Today, Global Village Space, ProPakistani and Business Recorder are all far superior to every single Pakistani Urdu news channel. Dawn is the only exception here but even anti-Pakistan Dawn usually posts more rational things than what our Urdu media posts.

We should annex Afghanistan, since it is our backyard.
We should only annex Wakhan Corridor, annexing anything else will simply invite more terrorism in our country.
Pakistan could either:
  • Purchase this narrow strip of Wakhan Corridor from afghans.
  • Occupy it.
  • Incentivize tribal leaders of this strip to join Pakistan.
  • Go around it.
  • etc.

I was of this opinion back in 2014 too :pakistan:
Pakistan should establish highway and rail links with both China and Russia. Tajikistan & Uzbekistan & Kyrgyzstan will also be linked. There is a narrow strip of Afghanistan that comes in the way too.

It is said that Russian invasion of Afghanistan was ambition to reach warm waters!! Making such road\rail links will give these countries access to Arabian-Sea without them needing to invade anyone. It would be a win-win for all.

At the time Karakoram Highway was built, technology was not what engineers have today. It would be much easier, & safer to build high quality road\rail link now. Breaching the Himalayas should be relatively easy task now. To shorten the distance, raise it rather high as a bridge to avoid serpentine longer distances.

To avoid that narrow strip of Afghanistan, we can build the main highway+rail to China & the link from Russia & Russian states could join that primary link in China. Thus skipping Afghanistan.

Yes the technical issue might be a problem. I am no expert, dont know if current technology can transfer oil/gas across Karakorum into Pakistan. Apart from that, geopolitically, it ticks all the boxes.

Our Indus civilization had good trade relations with Bactria–Margiana Archaeological Complex (BMAC). Their raw material used to be imported here in Indus. I guess it was bit easy in those days as there was no Afghanistan back then, it was part of Indus. Our borders were with central Asia.

We should annex Afghanistan, since it is our backyard.
We should make a confederation with Afghanistan where we only have same currency, passport, foreign affairs and defence. Afghanistan and Pakistan would have autonomy to do everything else and have separate state banks as well. In the Short term joining with Afghanistan will cause us issues however in the long term it will be much more beneficial because Pakistan will have direct access to Central Asia and have borders with it, have access to cheap Tajiki gas without paying transit fees, will give us more strategic dept and we will have access to the mineral wealth if Afghanistan. Overtime Afghanistan will eventually become stabile and together Pakistan and Afghanistans exports will be a lot which will help us build a very strong army for india. Nothing is impossible. If we can defeat terrorism in ex fata then we can pacify Afghanistan and the long term benefits will far out weight the short term costs. Taliban won’t behave how they do once they start making billions from tax and have more power.

Honestly BBC Urdu is a disgrace, how they claim "impartially" is a joke. All they do is spread propoganda and biased news againt Pakistan

Exactly the Afghanistani Pathans I could relate too. I have many Afghanistani childhood friends.
Usually Afghanistanis think better of Pakistan.

Also there is a large Afghanistani diaspora in Pakistan, especially in Peshawar and in Karachi.

Afghanistan is our backyard we have every right to claim it.

The Pakistan-Uzbekistan Transit Trade Agreement (AUPTT) has been operationalised & history made on 3rd March 2022 by clearance of the first-ever transit trade consignment to Uzbekistan. The maiden transit shipment is being moved by Pyramid Logistics of Pakistan, from the SAPT Terminal at Karachi Port to Termez in Uzbekistan..

With this, a new era of trade has started between Pakistan & Central Asia whereby goods would move to and from Pakistan’s ports to their respective destinations..
