You also don't know anything about the world's militaries. The PakArmy may be orders oriented but NATO forces are task oriented. The Indian Army from what I gathered is also task oriented.

Gen Powell did not resign. He served his term and did not want the job again. Condellia Rice replaced him.

I have far more grasp of strategic matters than you apparently. I've spent 22+ years both in uniform and out of uniform working for the military and have been involved in 3 wars both from the HQ side and in direct combat.

I've also met and served under some very brilliant generals and have the good fortune to dwell in their expertise. I've retired from the Canadian Forces with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.

Now, what are your qualifications?

im too wondering

Gee, I hope the hell not. I think I would've been shot, at least bucked to private for the things I've said about Gen Nambiar. Hell, I think the good Brigadier Ray would have presided over the GCM himself. We sure had it out way back when.

Now, why don't we ask Neo, the guy who got me here if I am Indian.

Islamic Nations Concerned Over Possible Expansion of US Strikes

Foreign ministers attending a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in Doha, Qatar, Wednesday voiced concern that US-led military strikes against Afghanistan could extend to other Muslim countries.

They hoped that the US strikes on Afghanistan would be " limited" to those carrying out the September 11 attacks to prevent the innocents from paying the price,
Kuwait's official KUNA news agency reported.

The two-day meeting came after the US and Britain began on Sunday military raids on Afghanistan, who is accused of harboring Saudi-born Osama bin Laden, the "prime suspect" of the terror attacks in the US on September 11.

The US Monday told the UN Security Council that it may have to attack other countries other than Afghanistan to root out terrorism.

The US has long accused three Muslim countries --
Iraq, Syria and Sudan, of sponsoring terrorism.

Analysts said that the OIC meeting will discuss the crisis resulting from the attacks in the US, the consequences of the US strikes on Afghanistan, the fate of Afghan refugees and the Palestinian-
Israel conflict.

The foreign ministers of OIC, a group representing 1.2 billion Muslims in the world, will seek a unified stance on the latest international developments.

The US gains nothing from bombing innocents.Infact it will only add more crediblity to the insurgents. So why would they do it?

You're the one who don't know fact from fiction. I have a much better source for you than Google. Why don't you pick up Gen Powell's book and read his own words or are you too lazy to actually find out how the man thinks?

In fact, right here states you don't know fact from fiction. Gen Powell is not a quitter. He did not quit. He served his term. He done the job as best he could. He stepped aside for someone else when he finished his job. Make no mistake about this. He finished his job.

Powell was humiliated and had no choice but to resign. He was ignored and had become irrelavant.

Orders oriented forces produces some of the best disciplined armies in the world but task oriented armies is surpassed by none when it comes to producing leaders.

Saying that something is task oriented doesnt make it so. Whether NATO or any other force, all are expected to follow orders. The task oriented force of a military that spends more than the next 12 nations combined is not able to stamp out 20,000 third world rebels. In fact a military of 2million that is unable to defeat a force of 20,000 ill equiped rebels is the entity lacking leaders and leadership.
