US will go for other states after Iran and Iraq, says Margolis

This is like from the movie Gladiator when the General become a slave and his owner tells him that he knew the emperor. The Spaniard laughs and the slave owner become angry and says that the emperor touched him on the shoulder with a sword to grand him his freedom.

That is a whole bunch of crap. I know General Powell. I've met him. He is not an anti-semite nor does he believe that Israel runs the US.

Then i suggest you read the news. And who said anything about him being an anti semite or an Israel hater?

. .
I suggest you bring it to my attention because I have whole robots tied to military news and newsletters that I subscribe to. I have nothing to indicate what that General Powell believes that the US is a Zionist (I suggest you look up the term Zionist and what it generally refers to) power.

.
Neither the weasel General Wesley Clark nor General Zinni were on the Staff that planned the Iraq War. Margolis was specifically referring to the current crop of retirees who were intimately involved in that war.

Oh, I get it. You're the anti-semite who believes the Jews run the US. Well, neither General Powell nor I share in your belief. The US stands on its own.

Slave owners don't know Powerpoint.

Im surprised your personal attacks on me arent being removed by the webmaster......no i take that back..im not really surprised at all.

I dont know how far your intellect goes or what your grasp is on strategic matters.......but can you tell us why collin powell resigned??? what transpired? Lets hear your "news robots excerpts".

.
Gen Powell did not resign. He served his term and did not want the job again. Condellia Rice replaced him.

I have far more grasp of strategic matters than you apparently. I've spent 22+ years both in uniform and out of uniform working for the military and have been involved in 3 wars both from the HQ side and in direct combat.

I've also met and served under some very brilliant generals and have the good fortune to dwell in their expertise. I've retired from the Canadian Forces with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.

Now, what are your qualifications?

You claim to be a "canadian" how long have you been a "canadian" ? when did you get off the plane from india and declared yourself a canadian?

I find your views on Eric Margolis extremely biased. I have yet to hear a reason for your hatred against a reporter? Do you dislike him because he is not a grims fairy tale writer like Selig Harrison or Thomas Friedman? or one of the many hacks hired and fired everyday at the NewYork Times?

As a military man, you follow orders, therefore your grasp on matters other than following orders and doing as youre told prohibits you from seperating facts from fiction. I suggest you google or discover news archives and find out why he quit the Bush/Cheney/Rove/Rumy dictatorship inc.

.
You're the one who don't know fact from fiction. I have a much better source for you than Google. Why don't you pick up Gen Powell's book and read his own words or are you too lazy to actually find out how the man thinks?

In fact, right here states you don't know fact from fiction. Gen Powell is not a quitter. He did not quit. He served his term. He done the job as best he could. He stepped aside for someone else when he finished his job. Make no mistake about this. He finished his job.

You also don't know anything about the world's militaries. The PakArmy may be orders oriented but NATO forces are task oriented. The Indian Army from what I gathered is also task oriented.

Orders oriented forces produces some of the best disciplined armies in the world but task oriented armies is surpassed by none when it comes to producing leaders.

The Cheney-Rumsfeld Cabal Exposed!

It was merely a brown bag lunch event today at the New America Foundation on Connecticut Avenue in Washington DC. But the speaker, Larry Wilkerson, Former Chief of Staff, State Department, 2002-2005, has lanced bulbous tumor of secrecy and deceit growing out of the Vice President's Office. You can find the audio file here of the earthshaking speech:
What I saw was a cabal between the Vice-President of the United States, Richard Cheney, and the Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, on critical issues that made decisions that the bureaucracy did not know were being made. Now it is paying the consequences of making those decisions in secret, but far more telling to me is America is paying the consequences....

They’ve got every Congressman, every Senator, they got it covered. Now, it’s not to say that they aren’t smart businessmen. They are, and women. They are. But it’s something we should be looking at, something we should be looking at. So you’ve got this collegiality there between the Secretary of Defense and the Vice President. And then you’ve got a President who is not versed in international relations. And not too much interested in them either.
The story has been picked up by Edward Alden, Washington correspondent for the Financial Times, who has written a report with a link to the full written transcript in the FT's October 20th edition. Alden points to three other specific charges made by Wilkerson:

■ The detainee abuse at Abu Ghraib and elsewhere was “a concrete example” of the decision-making problem, with the president and other top officials in effect giving the green light to soldiers to abuse detainees. “You don't have this kind of pervasive attitude out there unless you've condoned it.”

■ Condoleezza Rice, the former national security adviser and now secretary of state, was “part of the problem”. Instead of ensuring that Mr Bush received the best possible advice, “she would side with the president to build her intimacy with the president”.

■ The military, particularly the Army and Marine corps, is overstretched and demoralised. Officers, Mr Wilkerson claimed, “start voting with their feet, as they did in Vietnam. . . and all of a sudden your military begins to unravel”

Cheney-Rumsfeld cabal exposed
By BRIAN KNOWLTON
Lawrence Wilkerson, chief of staff to former Sec Colin Powell, says US foreign policy under Bush administration is usurped by 'Cheney-Rumsfeld cabal' and that Pres Bush has made US more, not less, vulnerable, to future crises; suggests in blunt speech to New America Foundation that secrecy, arrogance and feuding has taken heavy toll, skewing policies and courting disaster in Iraq, North Korea and Iran and in domestic crises like Hurricane Katrina; refers to Bush as not versed in international relations and 'not too much interested in them, either'; former Army colonel and director of Marine Corps War College is longtime Powell confidant but says Powell did not approve of public criticisms

It has become abundantly clear that the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld cabal is doomed. It has dug itself into a spider-hole of treachery and deceit it will never get out of. They have set the stage for their historical legacy alongside the most despicable tyrants ever to disgrace the human species. Similarly, if our species survives it, the stupendous American military will be remembered not only as the most brutal organized terror force ever, but also for being twice defeated by determined ragamuffin guerrillas using homemade improvised weaponry. There has been a sea-change during this past tumultuous 'tipping point' week. The tide has turned and around the world people are recognizing that the American empire itself is teetering at the brink of collapse.

The wanton attack, invasion, occupation and massacre of Iraq and Afghanistan, (what else can you call it?) and the Neocon global-domination scheme that inspired it has collapsed. Its propaganda agencies, right and left, are now reduced to a narrowing, desperate focus: how to declare victory and cut-and-run. But it's already too late: the scale of this superpower defeat goes much, much deeper. America is paralysed by deep paradoxical ideological schism. A clear majority of Americans are opposed to Bush and his atrocious Iraq attack. Politically, America is also deeply divided along similar lines, but a clear bipartisan majority continues to support Bush's Iraq attack. This bizarre infighting is tearing the country apart. Meanwhile, in Iraq, the coalition of Islamic guerrilla fighters are now mopping up after their brilliant campaign, having routed the most enormous and aggressive beast that ever stalked the planet. The pea-brained American dinosaur is mentally, morally and mortally crippled, and now writhes uncontrolled in a shrieking catastrophic fury, rocking the very Earth on its axis.

What else? Chinese now control the finances of this world's largest debtor nation. A critical mass of humanity now boycotts the American product. American business and tourism is now afraid to travel in the world. Gross American consumption has altered climatic stability and damaged the environmental integrity of the planet. Every American ikon is now a potential target of seething anti-American violence. The malignant cancer of corporate collusion and corruption has metastasized at the centre of American power and its elections are bought, gerrymandered and rigged. There's nothing left of the freedom and democracy that America so triumphantly claims to represent. As the U.S.A. Titanic tilts up its stern for the final slide into oblivion, the rats of capitalist empire are jumping ship in droves.

And how have the mighty fallen? The first stone slung to the temple of the gluttonous Goliath knocked it down senseless on 911 and exposed its primary vulnerabilities. It's too big, fat and smug, it sucks a huge amount of oil and it's run by a cabal of ruthless, venal Neocon oilmen. The box-cutter brigade's stunning surgical strike to the capitalist nerve centre not only provoked the predictable Neocon reflex, but it reminded the world that a determined few on a shoe-string budget can bring the corpulent all-mighty to its knees. Falling further for Osama's gambit, the Bushies blundered straight into Afghanistan, guns ablazing, where the Great Game of geopolitical strategy has historically played out to the defeat of every invading occidental superpower. The Great Game's latest manifestation -to secure the shortest route to mainline central Asian oil to giant oilports on the Arabian Sea- is a losing proposition. As Osama and every Afghan knows, giant military exploits in Afghanistan have never been a match for the battle-hardened, barefoot guerrillas who will persistently wear them down until they are exhausted. Just ask the Russians. But 911 was the neanderthalic Neocon oilman's cue, and in the name of vengeance, they fell for the mirage of easy access to this oasis of oil.

The American economy insists on unlimited cheap oil and any scarcity will precipitate its collapse. There is no alternative back-up plan. A simple doubling of oil prices will cause it to sputter, stall and stop. Meanwhile the the world's oil supply has peaked and the reserves are drying up. Oil-fuelled growth-based economies suck oil at ever more voracious rates, but relative to supply they run on fumes. The desperate Neocons are wrenching the global jugular in their insatiable lust for oil. From ANWR to Afghanistan to Anbar, wherever there is oil, all the stops are out, no holds are barred and no punches are pulled. But four years hence, the lies are exposed, and White House criminals await their frogmarch to jail. The trans-Afghan pipeline is sidelined while Americans rampage uselessly around the country, presumably on the hunt, looking for Osama. Iraq is destroyed and has descended into outright chaos.

The pea-brained commander-in-chief calls them "terrorists" and sics his hair-trigger beast, but the impotence of his push-button, video-terminal warriors cannot be masked by sheer tonnage of weaponry and spectacular displays of technology. The American military has major vulnerabilities and its major weakness is exposed. This military expects its enemy to wear uniforms and answer to a top-down chain-of-command, just like they do. Once upon a time, perhaps, the rules of war said that one army dressed up in red, the other in blue, marched off to a field, faced each other 100 yards apart, and blew each other away. Whoever ran out of ammo first was the loser. This was the respectable way to fight a war. Enemies of America, presumably, are expected to observe rules of war, such as the Geneva Conventions. Meanwhile, "the finest fighting force in the world" massacres innocent civilians, tortures its prisoners in a secret global gulag, schemes to bomb the free and independent media, and uses chemical, thermobaric and depleted uranium weaponry.100,000 Iraqi citizens are dead, with countless maimed. Iraq's infrastructure is destroyed. 80% of Iraqi citizens oppose the American occupation, and 60% favour attacks on American forces. As the American body count piles up, the chorus of complaint back in the USA increases in volume. The lying Bush cabal and its Neocon cronies are running out of gas. The Neocon ship is going down and its taking America with it. It might take us all down with it. The writing is on the wall for all the world to see.
