The Syrian affiliate of the PKK terrorist organization, the Democratic Union Party's (PYD) armed wings the People's Protection Units (YPG) and the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) started an all-out offensive against Daesh on Wednesday, this time targeting the very heart of the group: their de facto capital Raqqa. In the offensive against Daesh terrorists, the U.S. again gave air support to the YPG, this time strengthened with ground troops. In the photos from the offensive, the U.S. soldiers are seen wearing the PKK-linked YPG and YPJ's badges.

Ankara considers the PYD to be a terrorist organization, citing its ties to the PKK, which has carried out a three-decade insurgency in Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast. On February 17, a PYD terrorist named Abdülbaki Sömer carried out a suicide attack in Ankara, killing 29 including officers and civilians, also leaving 61 wounded. Later on, a giant poster featuring him and Seher Çağla Demir, a PKK militant who carried out a car bombing on March 13 in Ankara killing 38 civilians and leaving 125 others wounded, was seen hanged on a building in a Syrian city under control of the PYD terrorist organization.

The poster also featured jailed PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan with the headline "Leader," yet another proof for the group's undeniable ties to the PKK.

Turkish-U.S. relations have gone south following a statement from U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby that the U.S. does not consider the Syrian PKK affiliate PYD or its armed wing YPG to be terrorist organizations. Kirby's statement was in response to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's ultimatum to Washington to choose Turkey or the PYD as its ally.

Even though Ankara repeatedly warned the U.S. and Europe that there are no good or bad terrorists, pointing to the YPG, the U.S. disregarded President Erdoğan's last call and designated the YPG its "partner."

The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the US, the EU and Turkey.

Formed in 1978, the terrorist group has been fighting the Turkish government for an independent state until the early 2000's. The group then shifted its goal to autonomy in predominately Kurdish inhabited regions of Turkey.

Terrorist US siding with terrorists. Yanks showing their opportunist 2 faced character again. They actually have serious ill intentions against turkey as well as against the GCC countries. US even blocked Erdogan's bid to create a no-fly zone to house refugees fleeing the war - the most pragmatic idea so far to deal with refugees resulting from a viscous US/Russian backed war against sunnis in ME. And now faced with millions of refugees Merkel also likes Erdogan's idea . It seems the yanks want nothing less than genocide of muslims in syria and establish secular Kurd and alawite dominance in the region.

Turkey should really think about clearing northern syria of PKK and ISIS and aid the rebel/mujahideen groups to create a sustainable state there. Syria is already divided with 0 chance of unification IMO. Turkey should do its part to prevent genocide of muslims in syria in the hands of US/russia backed Assad and co.

First of all, the Syrian Kurdish forces (i.e. the YPG/SDF forces) aren't terrorists. They have never deliberately targeted civilians, nor have they ever carried out terrorist attacks. As a matter of fact, no country on earth considers them to be terrorists -- not even Turkey, for that matter! Turkey is only concerned about the PKK. The Turks simply want the Syrian Kurds to cut their purported ties with the PKK. Speaking of the PKK, although it is classified as a terrorist organization by the Turkish government, it hasn't carried out terrorist attacks (i.e. attacks against civilians) in a very, very long time. Nowadays, it focuses exclusively on targeting enemy combatants (e.g. Turkish security personnel).

Secondly, Turkey's jihadist proxies in Syria have actually committed more war crimes and atrocities than any other warring faction in that country. Just recently, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have accused them of using chemical weapons and targeting unarmed civilians in the city of Aleppo. The Turkish-backed militant groups in Syria have also been found guilty of committing war crimes by the United Nations on numerous occasions. In fact, the UN has found them guilty of war crimes as early as 2013.

Honestly, it's a little bit ironic of you to claim the moral high ground around here while you express your support for the Turkish-backed militants.

Oh, and by the way, Turkey can't do anything without American approval lol. The US runs the show around here -- not Turkey.

In case you didn't know this yet, the US/West wants to carve a Kurdish state (i.e. Kurdistan) out of northern Syria and northern Iraq, and there's not a damn thing Turkey can do about it.

If Turkey ever invades Syria, it'll be because the Americans want them to, in which case it'll be a trap for the Turks lol.

It's well known that the US has supported terrorists in Iraq and Syria for its favor, once they are done with these YPG and PKK terrorists they will strike them by drones. Kurds will learn this lesson the hard way.
