How many Afghans have you met? or how many foreign soldiers serving in Afghanistan / Iraq you have came across?
US army is working along with private contractors..... kind of out sourcing the war... it helps US in many ways.... less American dead count... and less traumatized army and less revelations at the end.
It is well known in Iraq that dead count reporting in next days news use to be less than 10% of real dead because most dead did not count....... because they wer not officially in Iraq on the first place.
They mostly come from Africa and are tricked in for US nationality.... you can very well imagine once they are trap they can't do **** about any thing. It's like human trafficking and exploitation in the name of US passport.
You may very well imagine the charm of western passport!

Maybe Afghanistan is a different case with war scenario and all. But then again, have you ever served as a soldier (not essentially involved in combat) ever, friend? Like most keyboard warriors here, I don't think so.

I am trying to be practical by telling people here not to put the blame of a few aggressive and unethical soldiers on the entire million plus Army.

Quite a significant amount considering the influx of refugees since last 8-10 years in Europe and Western world in general. Does this answer your question?

Not Afghanistan but Iraq yes. three of them. one German, two Americans. One of the Americans happens to be close acquaintances of mine.

What do you mean private contractors? I am aware that the United States grants citizenship to foreigners willing to serve in conflict zones in almost one tenth the time that would take to otherwise get the American passport to a normal immigrant. But then again, who do you blame? Americans or those who are willing to do it? I strongly agree that it is
unethical on part of American agencies, but you don't see them asking immigrants to serve at a gunpoint isn't it?
Now for example if Pakistan was in place of United States and you are in the midst of a huge war requiring immense troop deployment, do you think that your government won't press you for conscription in a worst case scenario? A foreigner (say, an Afghan refugee from Soviet era) who was granted Pakistani passport or with the guarantee of one, do you think his position would be any more or less than yours as he would also be required to serve? You'd call it human trafficking if the American government would sent soldiers and ask foreigners to serve at gunpoint. But this is an offer which people are willing to take. Once granted passport, the foreigner becomes a citizen and is serving the country.
But what you say about the bold part, I agree that is despicable not to count the fallen who have entered the scheme.
