What's new

US rejects majority of Pakistan’s support fund demands

You don't want to stop the taliban who are killing their soldiers and you want their money too. Both things can't go side by side, can they?

.... that will also mean that india will not be able to hide in american underwear in afghanistan
.... and indirectly attack Pakistan from ther
....so we have everything to gain to see american get defeated, humilated and dragged out of Afgansitan
So you accept that Afghanistan only serves as your proxy? .. Nothing More?

infact we should just default on re-payments now , all that would mean is that this guy will not get his pound of flesh , nothing else

Obviously you do not understand international finance. A non negotiated default will mean no more international assistance for you... No more infrastructure projects, no new roads, no new hospitals, etc. Would you say, that is a fair price to pay for your strategic depth?

I am doing fair analysis on it you should take underestimating this but reality if the same way going froward than he conquer the region in 30 year and after this you should not make underestimating free from this grip....

But this is confirmed that China will the 2nd most power full nation in the world....

And how does China becoming the 2nd most powerful country in the world effect Pakistan?

You are deluding yourself if you think China is fight a war on Pakistan's behalf.

USA, EU and India are among the largest trading partners of China and they are also becoming the biggest enemies of Pakistan due to Pakistan's self delusions of grandeur.

Everything cant go our way. If you want to shut the NATO supply down, you need to be prepared for a prolonged economic beat down. Unfortunately the same people who roam around with the "go america go" banners are going to start burning stuff when prices spiral out of control.

Yeap. I mean if we had cooperated with US/NATO in Afghanistan then we could have used their global public clout to deal with Kashmir.

But by playing a double game, we have isolated ourselves.

Good Point, yes if you want to not have relationship with America and do not want their aid, then why crib about inflation. You should be prepared for the same.

He is right, people will be more concerned and agitated about day to day requirements.

no heck meck here, Pakistan has everything to gain once the americans are kicked out of afghanistan that will also mean that india will not be able to hide in american underwear in afghanistan and indirectly attack Pakistan from there so we have everything to gain to see american get defeated, humilated and dragged out of Afgansitan and never to return and we'll make sure that it happens, signs of american defeat are already on the horizon

Also if we get rid of US aid and monetary assistance loans that is good for us , infact we should just default on re-payments now , all that would mean is that this guy will not get his pound of flesh , nothing else
Once the US winds up the war from Afghanistan, leaving its special forces and bases here, US will not only extract its pound of flesh but will extract every drop of blood that ISAF has spilled. Pakistan is living in an extremely adverse and hostile climate which Pakistanis living in the very lap of luxury abroad do not realize. Pakistan may hide all they can in their Talibani undergarments currently, but once the US leaves, its open season for the Americans in the Land of the Pure politically, economically and militarily.

Let me go a step further and say, Pakistan is living through a war. A Cold / warm war, just not hot war.

The transit fees should have risen gradually and after negotiations. Such a sudden hike is like a shock and unfair to Nato economies.

But I don't see why the US doesn't want to apoligize for its mistake. Their refusal seems childish.

I honestly think this came a little late, about 10 years late.We should not have entangled ourselves in this mess in the first place. We being the little guys were exhilarated when asked to play with the big boys.We fought a war that wasn't ours for money and subsequently now it has become our war.Now after looking at the dirty side of the picture we want out but it's not that easy is it!Pakistan is not a stakeholder but rather the little guy who might be important but not exactly a necessity! That's the story and one has to take it with a pinch of salt.

I think its about time that the Pakistani nation and specially the Govt learns to live without aid ! For God's sake , we have a hell lot of mineral resources and geographical importance which makes us such an significant country in the region ... Why cant we stand on our own feet ?

How much did they help you in 60 years of slavery?

A number of African countries have even more resources but they still can not develop.
Coming to Geographical importance: Unless Afghanistan stabilises and Iran's isolation from the west is gone, Pakistan's geographical importance does not mean anything.
