U.S. confirms duties on steel pipes from Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand| Reuters
WASHINGTON Fri May 23, 2014 3:12pm EDT

May 23 (Reuters) - The United States on Friday confirmed duties on imports of stainless steel pressure pipe from Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam after finding the products had been sold at unfairly low prices.

Duties will be as high as 167.1 percent for some pipe from Malaysia, the Department of Commerce said in its final determination.

The pipe is used in pharmaceutical lines, petrochemical lines, brewery process and transport lines and general food processor lines.

Imports from the three countries totaled $39.1 million in 2013. The U.S. International Trade Commission is due to make its final decision on whether the imports harmed local industry on July 6. (Reporting by Krista Hughes; Editing by Dan Grebler)

Aye, we know, Chinese's even worse ... we will wait until TPP for the greater good. :D

The 2008 - global economic crisis was happened and affect most of countries, good chance to escape that ... :D

Like I said, TPP will be probably be the same effect WTO has on Vietnam. The determinant of Vietnam's economic performance is its size, infrastructure and education level, not whatever organization Vietnam joins.

Those issues are true, that why this's chance, we will wait to see what happen then ...

No problem, we understand how American politics runs.
The US remains being the largest export market and the most important market of Vietnam.

You think it is china?
No, US and EU are two biggest and most important export market of Vietnam in recent years.
This is the figures Q1/2014:

U.S., EU top Vietnam’s export markets in Q1 - U.S., EU top Vietnam’s export markets in Q1 - SaiGon Times Daily

Rubbish。

Ever heard of Sino-Vietnamese border trade?

These are custom figures which do not include the billions of dollars worth of trade that tens of thousands of Vietnamese peddlers conduct with their Chinese customers just across the border。As a matter of fact, tens of thousands of Vietnameses have set up shop hawking Vietnamese-made daily necessities in Chinese border towns 。

Next year Vietnam and China will have FTA, trade between them will be bigger.

that is not new. America imposes duties from time to time on different products citing dumping.
Such move will disappear as soon as we join TPP. Hopefully.

TPP is a great thing. when the pact becomes reality, tariffs will be removed on nearly $2 trillion in goods and services exchanged between the signatory countries.
