As long as the steel is fine, the ship is fine. So even if a 40 year old frigate can get new engines/systems, it will work for much less than a new one.

BTW this Type 35G is a PRE-HISTORIC design

We are surrounded by stone aged countries. So its ok.

While INS Sumitra is just an OPV, BN will replace all the weapons in the Rush with the latest gadgets. This 3000 ton ship will be transformed to a Frigate which can voyage 15,000km at a stretch.

thats the problem with you guys.see,you think adding few ASHMs in any ship can make it frigate,but it is not..it just makes it a sitting duck during wartime as it'll have little or no capability to defend itself what generally a Frigate has.compare it with your "True Frigates" and you'll understand.

It wont just be anti-ship missiles but SAMs and anti-submarine weapons such as torpedos.
