US declassifies its strategy to use India against China

you make some good points. I am curious why you think Trump or Biden or Putin or Modi have to 'trust' anyone. Each is going to do what they feel is best for them and their country at any given moment and situation. Where there are options and alternate decisions, they are are going to go bey what their particular policy mandate is from their constituency.

Trump was different in that he couldn't keep his mouth shut - Putin & Modi know how to keep silent. Biden - we will have to see what the position makes of him but he has a low bar to excel
It’s quite simple isn’t it? Modi is moving India towards an alliance with the Anglos, who are the foremost power hurting Russia’s interest. While China is also in the crosshairs of the Anglo empire, so China and Russia’s interests are aligned long term.

Modi will align to China in heartbeat if that helps India - however preposterous it may sound now. China will never go full throttle on the US with or without Xi. US will continue to muddle through until next great invention lets us leapfrog again. Putin hates that Russia is too small for him (it is) but biding his time. But Russia has the knowhow that China badly covets - question then becomes will Russia let China do to them what China did to JPL and American innovations

China was wanting India as a long term economic partner, that was the purpose of the Wuhan and Malayalam meetings.

Modi decided to forsake this and join on the anti-China bandwagon and the Quad because it felt like it had an opportunity to benefit from the largesse of the US. So that's what happened. We will see what transpires under the Biden administration.

yup

Trump is the most stupidest USA president in history, ignored good advise and surround himself with Yes man. Pity he lost the 2020 election.

Not only Yes men but unhinged, delusional lunatics like Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro. They really lived in their own world.

But US failed miserably, India is just a useful fool for US, but US itself now is collapsing in all fronts.

US will be the world power in all fronts for next 100 years. The amount of inertia they have built over a 100 years might be dented by a Chinese rise here and there and political turmoil like it happens in democracies.
Stop living in dream they might just do an inception on you and you won’t know.

As far as India is concerned it will just wait both of you out.

100 years is way too optimistic. No one can tell what will happen 100 years from now. Imagine how different the world looked 100 years ago.

The US is going to face a major demographic shift by 2040. From that point on, it will no longer be a White country, it will be a multi-racial country and will look increasingly like Brazil demographically. Whites will likely still occupy an outsized and disproportionally influential place however.

With the exponential rate at which technology is proceeding, anything can happen. If the US cannot keep up with innovation, China can seize the winning heights within 5 years as it is pouring endless resources into it and has far more competent leadership than the US.

However, again, 100 years from now, no one can figure out what would happen. China may become the leading superpower 50 years from now and then decline 80 years from now. India may get its act together and become a superpower 70 years from now. Who knows.

Germans were the pioneers of technology and innovation before US. But they were outgunned by others.

power and influence doesn’t get excercized by that it’s the soft power which is most powerful that US will continue to have.

Undoubtedly the US and the Anglo empire at large has accrued a tremendous amount of power, both hard and soft, over the last 300 years.

At the same time, the US has never faced a challenger like China. Germany is very small compared to the US, both population wise and geographically. So was Japan. The USSR was massive in size but had a dysfunctional economy and system.

China has a population four times larger than the US, is already the world's largest industrial power (a title the US always held until recently), has a far more competent and efficient government and has a very dynamic and vibrant economy.

Undoubtedly the US will likely continue to be the pre-eminent superpower for the next 20 years. But China is already a superpower and at this point, its rise is unstoppable. Eventually the West will have no choice but to find some way to accommodate it.

USA already did it and india is already banged on LAC . now indians have to be ready on two front next 50 years . thanks modi

nukes make super power status obsolete

nukes will limit china options in a way other super-powers never had to deal

That goes for all powers then.

It's not going to be much of a limit because the battles of the future will primarily be fought on technological and economic turf. China is rising relentlessly and there is nothing the West can do to stop it at this point. The momentum is far too large. The reality is that most non-Chinese aside from the business elite have absolutely no clue just how advanced and powerful China has already become.
