US bravery award for Delhi rape victim

Had the rape victim survived the award would hv been justified- what bravery?-
Explain bravery in being a dead rape victim-

No offence but this award makes no sense-

you would understand if you read the statements of the doctors who treated her, bravery is not only about killing enemy's or saving others life etc.she put up a good fight before surrendering to death.

Maybe this will act as a confidence booster to the vulnerable. Also..to those victims who are socially neglected due to these kinda heinous acts.

LOL....you mean other rape victims in the interiors of India will now be confident that if they get raped they too will get an US 'award' ?

.......suddenly Indian society will show less 'social neglect' because US gave an 'award' ? .......do you even hear yourself?

If the US is so concerned for 'Rape victims' world wide, why not offer them US visa ? ........I guess giving them a piece of paper with the word 'US award' is a better 'confidence booster' :cheesy:

Ungli kya dikhai, pura hath mang lete ho! Why being so bitter if US decided to honour this girl posthumously, regardless of their motive behind this? Don't worry... there won't be any strings attached to this award. Should there be any... we got left parties to raise the ruckus at the parliament, Behnji & Mulayam Singh will come out with their own logic behind it saying it's anti-minority! Nothing of that sort happened so far.. we are safe!!:cheesy:

It really isn't an award in the conventional sense, it is just the State Department insulting India.

.
With due respect to that woman. I think award of cowardliness should be given to those around her watching and doing nothing. Bravery award should be given to citizen of Delhi who came out on street to protest the rape

There was no one around her. It was an empty bus and the streets were deserted.

Her boyfriend tried to help but got beaten by the 5 guys involved.

 why should I be 'bitter' if US acts on their self interest.........you see bitterness when one laughs? ....... aren't you sounding a bit extra eager and desperate to approve of US tactics ? :coffee: ....are you seeking 'approval' from the great white man too?

Its disgusting to see US to use the rape and death of a young Indian girl to project itself as a nation that cares about others. That poor girl is dead and gone and there is nothing left to 'honor' as you so put. That dead girls get nothing ........the dead girls family gets nothing ..........its only the US who gets 'FREE PUBLICITY' and an opportunity to use the death of that poor girl to their benefit.

You pathetic attempt to deflect this horrible shameful act by dragging in Bhenji and Mulayam is no less shameful. You are in no position to comment on how safe other Indians are when you are so eager to brown nose Americans and use dead Indian girls to further American ambition.

.
US has mastered the art of Marketing and Advertising .......a.k.a 'Soft Power'

Now even rape victims get 'US Bravery Award' ......:P .................does drone bombing victims get 'US Bravery Award' too ?

You are missing the point here. The girl was brave enough to overcome her trauma of being raped and literally being disemboweled by scumbags, fought hard to LIVE and then gave a statement to the authorities to point out her attackers. Now if that aint courage, son, then pray tell us, what is?

Protesting and jumping the protest bandwagon without even thinking thoroughly about the issues is plain idiotic. 95% of those idiots who were "protesting" would simply stand mute, scared shyte and timid, if a crime was happening right in front of their eyes.

Why are yankees and western world want to highlight such Incidents in South Asia with such acts and awards...they should rather care about their numerous rape victims..

Are you really that THICK? Celebrating bravery of a rape victim gives HOPE to thousands of other victims to come out, conquer their trauma, fear and humiliation and fight to get justice. "Ummeed pe duniya kayam hein". These are the first steps towards recovery from such a traumatic experience. That recovery is very important, because such traumas live with you for live.

As for US visas, do you even think before saying anything? Do you really think your statement makes any sense whatsoever?

They do. But here is one thing, one cannot predict when a scumbag, taking advantage of any given situation might assault a woman or even a man. The pain, humiliation and trauma faced by such victims scars them for life. When some individuals overcome this fear and trauma to face their assaulter and fight to get justice, their bravery does deserve to be celebrated, dont you think so?

Given the medieval sexist and chauvinistic mindset of people in our countries and in many other parts of our neighborhood, it helps in giving hope to the victims that they need to be courageous and need to fight back to see that such occurance of incidents decreases or does not happen.

I am pretty thick skinned to barbs of US Lackey.

Let me quote some Rape statitiscs of USA,

Every 45 seconds someone in the United States is sexually assaulted

1 out of every 7 women currently in college has been raped, however, 9 out of 10 women raped on campus never tell anyone about the rape.

1 in 10 men is raped in his lifetime, 1 in 7 of those victims will have been assaulted before the age of 18.

More than 61.5% of rapes are never reported to law enforcement.

The United States has the world’s highest rape rate of all countries that publish such data- 13 times higher than England and more than 20 times higher than Japan.

An American woman is 10 times more likely to be raped than to die in a car crash.

61% of rape victims are females under the age of 18.

In Short USA can find ENOUGH RAPE VICTIMS in their own country to 'Honor' and give 'Awards' to. No need to do this farce on the dead body of Indian victims. Get It, wanna be American ?

As for US visas, do you even think before saying anything? Do you really think your statement makes any sense whatsoever?

Yes, unlike those grovelling in the US for approval I am a free thinking Indian who puts his nation above USA.

If USA is super eager to give 'HOPE to thousands of other victims' as you are found of saying, let them start grating visas to Rape victims the same way they give rafugee status to victims of political Struggles. Surely Rape victims courage is just as good as courage as political victims, after all US is keen to give hope to thousands of Rape victims all over the world.

US can also start providing scholarships to Rape victims to give them 'hope'.

There is a whole list of things to do than write 'Award' on toilet paper and dish it out for publicity.

I am not your son ...I know who my parents are ....if you are keen to have a family get married 'son', dont go around adopting strangers.

That girl was a brave victim who is dead and gone ...she does not need my certificate of 'courage', neither does she need a US certificate.

As for that 95% 'idiots' who were protesting, they were doing it in their own country against happenings in their own country. They too don't need your condescending comments or certificates of courage from your kinds. Take a hike.

Actually we showed the world that we did stand and will continue to stand over these issues if repeated. The Delhi protest became known phenomenon more than the crime and even South Africa, where much more rapes happen and a girl was gang raped and then her body was disemboweld by stabbing the knife and running it from her stomach to her vagina.

People got angry and since they heard about Indian protest everyone came on street.

Not that in South Africa, which has very low population than ours, the rape are quite often and no one pays any attention just like our society and in many other countries.

I don't care whether US gives it or not, all I care that the laws made, fast tracks court established and Justice Verma's Committee report is taken seriously and implemented.

I want people to fight for women's right until the victims get their justice, the culprits gets toughest punishment and we provide them their rightful reservation in Parliament.

Having said that problem with Indians is that three minor girls aged between 6 to 12 were raped and murdered and dumped into a well, and no one is protesting anywhere in the country.

Like I said then, people moved on.

The blue part is the one I was mentioning when I said people get tolerant over time. This should not be happening not only in INDIA but every where. People should not see it a daily happening, they should stand every day and say I will not accept this behaviour towards women.

probably you did not follow the news story, but its a boy and a girl who boarded a bus without any passenger(with tinted glass) .The girl was raped and attacked, the boy was beated to the point that he passed out. Both were thrown out from vehicle.
