Foreign investments have practically dried up, local industry is not looking too good, There is huge shortage in energy and electricity, Pakistan needs funds desperately.

I think that 1 billion is maybe pushed in return for:

- Supply Line
- Drone Attack Damage
- U.S Air Base (w/ special forces) presence
- U.S Consulate

I don't think it benefits our economy at all. It creates no positive impact. They do destruction and we have to use that 2.5% to repair back the damage. In my opinion, we don't really gain or move up in anything. Even then, if i'm wrong, the money will end up eaten by our leaders (U.S elected puppets).

Some even say that its a military aid. But hey i don't see any new defence purchases for our army and for the air force. We are still using the same old weapons given to us back in 80s that was once used it in the war against Soviets...

In conclusion, one can try many different scenarios about aid, but what you will find out for sure in Pakistan is that it is useless.... Its just a drama created by the West to show their softer side....

the much resources Pakistan has, pretty good strategic location with a direct trade link to Central Asia, to energy rich Iran with trade relationship with CHina and soon with India also. there is no reason why Pakistan can't perform at least as good as South East Nations, ASEAN? its just because of poor leadership why Pakistan can't put itself with Turkey, Thailand type similar sized emerging economies. Pakistan has full potential to perform very good and it is struggling with those few things which are just because of bad governance. continuous violence, high corruption, every day news about separatists activities of Baluchistan with similar news from other states also, all these reasons are those which is of no use, not worth and no other emerging economy is facing like this except Pakistan. and if they can get rid of all these bullshitts, there won't be any reason why Pakistan can't put itself among the forward emerging economies

Agree with your sentiment. In fact during the nineties the last time we had sanctions from America we became more self reliant and the following years we started producing tanks jets etc.

US AID helps fill the coffers of morons like zardari nawaz and ppl think they are doing something for the nation when there is no aid....these politicians are forced to pull their brain out of their ***** and fix them in their head again.

Pakistan is kind of country known for its pride. Stopping aid not really a matter. may be they are poor, but one day starts growing faster like china and India. Pak is taking efforts to crub terrorism but many internal problems in Pak. It has to do more with Antiterrorism

This is where the smart move is needed..
Pakistan must comply and ensure that its interests are met..
and it must now end the hostilities in the east once and for all to ensure that one front for it goes cold.
