What's new

Unundidenfied aircrafts bombed Tripoli, Libya in early hours..

Except Egypt is training government forces and has had talks over arming them in Egypt, from small arms ammunition to trainer aircraft. So how is Egypt involved in a plan to overthrow the government when it is supporting the government and targeting groups which are waging war against the government?

What government forces are you talking about? Haftar forces?

Post-civil war violence in Libya - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Militias in Libya have actively been killing each other for a while, but of course Hazzy see's what he wants to see.

OK. When you find actual evidence and evidence means evidence not unsubstantiated reports from random militias and opinion pieces then you can talk. However, in the real world the Libyan parliament is doing this:-

Any domestic strife prior to that was expected and not related to attempted coups. Of course the world wants stability now. Their kind of 'stability' of course which means putting who they prefer into power.

Some of Gaddafi's family moved to Egypt in the civil war of 2011 when the Egyptian Army was busy training rebels in Banghazi, that isn't in any way relevant to the situation.

It is training officers and troops to join the Libyan National Army. Now what that actually means is hard to tell, because the National Army itself has split into several camps under Haftar and other militias, including Islamist militias that Haftar is fighting. Either way, the Officers Egypt is training have not yet graduated and when they do is up to them or the Libyan National Government where they actually go.

Any domestic strife prior to that was expected and not related to attempted coups. Of course the world wants stability now. Their kind of 'stability' of course which means putting who they prefer into power.

And who they prefer remains the democratically elected National Government according to the joint statement by Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and the US. The attempted coup is a result of the strife, without those divisions there would have never been an opportunity to do anything.

@Frogman

Is this is a joke? A youtube video? And those people Egypt is training are are part of Haftar supportes and UAE residing opposition Jibril.

Prefer what? General Haftar's forces already dissolved the libyan parliament and Libyan government denounced him and his attempted power grab.

@Hazzy997 What's with new infighting in Libya, is Qazzafi loyalists under the garb of islamists fighting newly formed government or it's a totally different group this time ?

The YouTube video just shows you we are training Libyan Forces nothing more and they were inducted long before Haftar started his campaign the video was raised in April 4th 2013, meaning Libyan OCdts. were actually inducted in September of 2012 when the Libyan National Army was still partly united.

Haftar declared the House of Representatives dissolved, however, he was unable to do so as this proves:

With even the militias that attest their support for the new parliament refusing to put down their arms, the House of Representatives vote earlier this week passed by a large majority. Of the 188 MPs present, 111 backed calls for international assistance.

I'll just post this again so you get it:-

We commend the determination of the Libyan people to ensure that democratic governance and rule of law form the bedrock of their country’s future. The international community stands firmly behind the Libyan people, supports the democratically-elected institutions of Libya, and rejects outside interference in Libya’s transition. We support all parties’ engagement to this objective, including the continued activities of the Tunis process on Libya.

Now if you can find one statement from the Egyptian, Morrocan, and Algerian governments supporting Haftar please provide it, if you can find evidence of any material support provide it, unsubstantiated reports and opinion articles are not evidence. Otherwise you have no leg to stand on and your Egypt/Saudi/UAE/Israel/Gypsy/Zanzibar/Guam/Madagascar rants utterly meaningless.

Well the situation in Libya fro the beginning was a mess. Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria had legitimate security concerns near border areas. Government in Libya couldn't control the whole situation for a while now.

The newest infighting began when this General in May began saying he will crush MB and more blah blah even though most of the parties he's attacking aren't related to the MB. He attacked the parliament. There are many divisions in Libya. although this is an attempted power grab.

It is technically islamist vs non-islamist forces but it is more complex then that. Now there are calls for calm and some battles in major cities.

I never said anything about Algeria or Morroco, they don't interfere in other nations affairs. Neither did I bring up anything about support to the general. I was disputing the way you're framing Libya.

Of course the Arab world/international community now back the government after June elections. The elections where they closed polling stations where Islamists have highest support. And when they replaced GNC(Which had MB dominace) with House of Representatives. And after election laws were modified reducing number of eligible voters from 2.8 million to 1.5 million.

Basically after these measures were taken coincidentally parliament became opposite of Islamist dominated.

GNC was same parliement which was stormed by Hafter affiliated militias. Of course you can't find this information anywhere on the internet. If you google the situation on Libya none of this is mentioned by any global media.

Of course the way the it is being framed as is the people got tired of MB/Islamists and we support the people.

So odd how they Haftar forces start going in the offensive, destroy the parliement, delcare elections, try to blame them for violence in nation, people get fed up with violence and Haftar starts claiming he is source of security for Libyans, and close polling stations where Islamist support is concentrated and amend election laws then refuse to consult opposing forces on legislative elections.

Nevertheless we support the people. And I support whatever popular decision they make.

That's funny since Egypt and Algeria are cooperating on every level (both militarily and politically) in regards to Libya since Elsisi's visit to Algeria. The way I'm framing Libya is the way Libya is, several militias fighting each other and the state for greater power, be they Islamist, or secular. All the articles you posted claim Egypt is helping Haftar and you have claimed it before and now.

Wrong again:-

The General National Congress was composed of 200 members of which 80 were elected through a party list system of proportional representation, and 120 were elected as independents in multiple-member districts.[14][15]

National Forces Alliance (39)
Justice and Construction (17)
National Front (3)
Union for the Homeland (2)
National Centrist (2)
Wadi Al-Hayah (2)
Other parties/blocs (15)

Independents (120)[6]

It is estimated that 25 independents were associated with the NFA, 17 with Justice and Construction, and 23 were Salafis.[16]

NFA was created in February 2012. On 14 March 2012, the former wartime prime-minister, Mahmoud Jibril, was elected president of the alliance. NFA competed in the Libyan General National Congress election, 2012. It fielded 70 candidates across Libya.[4] Bucking the Islamist trend set by the Muslim Brotherhood's victories in Egyptian and Tunisian elections, the NFA beat out the Justice and Construction Party (Muslim Brotherhood's political arm in Libya) to take first place. NFA received 48% of the popular vote and won 39 of the 80 party-list seats.[6] It is also estimated that 25 of the 120 independents in the GNC are associated with the NFA.[7] Two NFA deputies were subsequently removed from the GNC by the integrity commission due to them having served as officials under the Gaddafi regime.[7] On 14 November 2012, NFA became the largest governmental political party.

Tasked primarily with transitioning Libya to a permanent democratic constitution, it was given an 18-month deadline to fulfil this goal. When the deadline passed with work on the new constitution only just getting underway, Congress was forced to organise elections to a new House of Representatives, which took power and replaced it on 4 August 2014.

BBC News - Gunmen storm Libyan parliament

BBC news:

The BBC's Rana Jawad in Tripoli says Libya's national congress has been stormed on dozens of occasions by gunmen over the past year and a half.

I
t was stormed many times by many different militias and factions, all with different grievances. The information is everywhere.

LOL, you must be so proud that we're bombing our own defenseless fellow Arabs. Sigh...the Arab world is lost.
@Hazzy997 brother fellow Arabs or fellow Muslims. Or better still our own brothers.

The Egyptian Gov and Algerian both should use their influence on diplomatic front and their closeness to the libyan tribes to mediate between the factions there. So this bloodshed could end. And the libyans would have peace

They do want peace. But, the kind of 'peace' Egypt/UAE/KSA/Israel/PA want is one where MB is completely genocided and then government is formed. They're trying their best to get rid of Hamas in Gaza and they collaborate with Israel on an unprecedented level.

Don't support these people just because you live in Kuwaitt. Of course I support the Libyan people. The regional axis I mentioned doesn't. There is only one kind of 'will of the people' they talk about.

this means it could be either the GBU-16 or GBU-32 JDAM, the papers released above mention the bomb being guided by fins, which means the GBU-16 was used, this immediately rules out any Air Force using Russian or other equipment, so we know it wasn't Algeria.

Algeria had those kits in the late 80's...And Egypt does not have night fighting capabilities, as those conducted a 2am, extremely precise, no civilian casualties reported. Beside Algerian FS are known to have operated recently south of Zinten. Those aircrafts are Algerians.

Libya is in chaos, every militia has her own pissing ground.

I don't know why you think this is a war against the MB. It is a war against revolutionary forces waged upon them by Haftar(Supported by Egypt/KSA/UAE/Israel). It is literally an armed coup.

General Haftar is a good man and Libya's best bet.
