United Bengal / Greater Bangladesh : Possible?

Bengali culture is very similar to Hindu culture, so a united Bengal would not be an issue culture/linguistic/ethnical wise.

Also, Bangladesh is the only ethno-state in South asia (if we don't count Bhutan), and so it would be cool to have all the Bengali people in one state.

We created Bangladesh to save ourselves from the cultural , social and political persecution of west pakistan regime. Then add the reason of constant looting of our resources by the former pak establishment and u will find out the perfect reason for the creation of Bangladesh.

East Bengal was most over populated and poor region of British Raj, It didn't turn into richi-rich over night after partition. So, there wasn't any wealth there to loot.

No matter what you say, but if North East gain independence, Bangladesh will have very highly strategic location. All those new states and Bhutan will be reliant only on Bangladeshi ports and China can have access by road.

India had nothing to gain and lots of unneeded troubles to invite by annexing east Pakistan, that's the only reason Bangladesh exist today otherwise it would have surely become part of India in 71 if not within years of partition.

That's outside the context i and we are replying to the op question. Easiest way to get greater Bengal united is form a union with india. Period.

U don't need to be super rich to be exploited or looted. As a matter of fact its exatly the opposite. Those who r rich and powerful, they hardly ever get exploited. Its the helpless ones who always get exploited, looted and discriminated against by the the corrupt ones in powerful positions.

The discrepancy that existed between West and East Pakistan was totally unprecedented. West Pakistan persecuted the helpless people of East Pakistan, looted their resources and then used those resorces to develop West Pakistan and in the process kept the people of East Pakistan to die out of hunger and disease.

Look at where we stand as a country now and where u r. If we were independent from the very beginning of 47 and haven't been looted for 20 long years BY WP, today we would've been in the position of Vietnam.

The fake nationalistic bond that binds India together will not last for long. Sooner or later this bond is bound to get lose. The division of India and the creation of greater bangla is only a matter of time.

Bengali r our people. We eat, drink and speak similar things and sooner or later they r going to join us.
As for merging, yes, it will definitely take place. West Bengal will merge with Bangladesh in order to form a greater Bangla that we have been all waiting for.

Bengal was the richest region of Indo subcontinent. Living standard was three time higher than rest of the sub continent. It used to represent 12% of world's GDP, 4th largest exporter of the world.

Dude it will not happen because of just Bengali but for economic reason mainly. If you compare West Bengal and North East India with Bangladesh what do you see? West Bengal and North East India is going through a downward slop since 1947 or after joining India. Living standard of West Bengal, Assam and Tripura mainly is lower than Bangladesh and the gap will increase further over time. At some point for sure they may opt to join. Another factor is West Bengal and Assam is on their way to become muslim majority in 30-40 years. This may prompt them to join. Bottom line India has failed to provide economic prosperity of these regions. What is the purpose of staying in India than?
