ISLAMABAD: Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani briefed the media following his meeting with Ambassadors and the Indian High Commissioner on Friday.

Jilani said Pakistan had informed UN military observers about Indian ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC) incidents, adding that a UN investigation was the only mechanism to resolve the issue.

According to the Foreign Secretary, European Ambassadors were briefed over the LoC incidents and they stressed that peaceful relations should prevail between Pakistan and India. Jilani added that Pakistan wanted ambassadors to play an active role in defusing the crisis.

The Foreign Secretary stressed on India to provide assurance that such incidents do not take place in the future. He said such incidents did not benefit either country.

and you blame us that we run to western countries to sort out issues

Stupid & futile attempt to internationalize the issue.. Looks like the memory of Kargil and the international Badnaami that followed it is fading from Pakistani mind :)

Anyone can go inform anyone about anything.

And the UN? They are notorious for observing, and that's all they do.

Your past record shows smtnhg else. You always run to western countries including U.S,china and saudis ..
But after rejection by U.S,you failed ..

After Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 the two countries signed the Simla Agreement in 1972 to define the Line of Control in Kashmir. India and Pakistan disagree on UNMOGIP’s mandate in Kashmir because India argued that the mandate of UNMOGIP has lapsed after Simla agreement because it was specifically established to observe ceasefire according to Karachi Agreement.

However, The Secretary General of the United Nations maintained that the UNMOGIP should continue to function because no resolution has been passed to terminate it. The military authorities of Pakistan have continued to lodge complaints with UNMOGIP about ceasefire violations. The military authorities of India have lodged no complaints since January 1972 and have restricted the activities of the UN observers on the Indian side of the Line of Control. They have, however, continued to provide accommodation, transport and other facilities to UNMOGIP.[5]
