UAE to send first Arab spaceship to Mars by 2021

We have habit. It's a constant (Visceral hatred) against all Arabs golf (GCC).

We wonder why we're here (PDF) ?

When we do nothing. Why ? When we do something. Why ? As if we were responsible worldwide. It's totally schizophrenic...

...
i don't hate UAE but what i say that unmanned probe to mars in 2021 is too late because in that time the red planet will be explored so what UAE unmanned probe will explore .... if you send it to Venus

As is say again and again

A small size country like UAE and total local population of UAE is around 1.2 million did not stop the leaders to think big and achieve big. They did not say oh, we don't have a big population and big area so let us not worry about dreaming big and achieving big.

Imagine what can Pakistan do? no shortage of area, no shortage of manpower no shortage of resources, just give sense of safety and security and give quality education till university to all children in Pakistan and have good adult education programmes all over Pakistan. After 20 years we will start to see the difference.

But to do the above we require a far sighted leader who can plan for future needs of the nation today and not wait for implementing projects and progammes when it is long overdue. This kind of leader we fortunately don't have.

Another example is China and Russia, Russian has far less population than China, far more area than China, far more natural resources than China but still China is way ahead in many fields than Russia. All comes down to how the leader of the nation uses the resources available for the best of the nation for the development of the common man and make dreams come true for the common man and the nation.

In the end i would like to say that the day is coming when a UAE national astronaut will be in space.

Vice-President chairs meeting of task force created to launch Mars probe

Emirati personnel will be trained to work on the UAE Space Agency and Mars probe, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said on Saturday.

Shaikh Mohammad on Saturday chaired the first meeting of the task force formed to implement the two projects.

Government bodies and institutions have been directed to support the team in its efforts to fulfil the mission.

Shaikh Mohammad yesterday discussed with the team the work plan on the establishment of the UAE Space agency with regard to organisational, legislative and administrative aspects.

He reviewed the strategic framework for the Mars probe’s project and the most important phases of work over the years leading up to 2021 when the Mars probe will be launched.

“Our priority will be on focusing on development of specialised and well-trained Emirati cadres in space science and technology, as Emiratis will be responsible for carrying out the two space projects,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

Technical challenges

Shaikh Mohammad and the team reviewed the steps to launch the Mars probe, including major technical challenges and the best time to launch a probe.

He instructed the task force to examine previous successful and unsuccessful experiments, and to work with international research institutes. “The next seven years will witness the UAE’s entry into the international space sector in which it will compete with other major countries to discover outer space. We will prove that we are capable of delivering new scientific contributions to humanity,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, other ministers and senior officials were present at the meeting.

The UAE Mars probe represents the Islamic world’s entry into the era of space exploration.

Mission to Mars

The UAE recently announced that it would enter the international space race to discover outer space through the announcement made by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed regarding the setting up of the UAE Space Agency.

The project entails sending an unmanned probe to Mars by 2021 in the Arab world’s first mission to another planet.

A new UAE Space Agency will be created to coordinate the UAE’s space technology sector and supervise the mission.

The UAE is one of only nine countries with space programmes to explore the Red Planet. The Mars probe’s nine-month and more than 60 million kilometre journey will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the UAE’s formation.

I am sorry, but this is too unrealistic.you should start with attaining launch capability first.

This is great!

Hopefully others will follow.

Muslim World is in a mess.

Time is running out and we haven't even started yet!

We need concentrated focus on economic development and independent sustainability, development of sustainable Islamic political framework through which Islamic masses can be governed justly and effectively, and then we need to focus on military projects, innovation, space technology etc. to expand the global horizons of Islamic World..

These are MASSIVE tasks. Hopefully sanity prevails amongst Muslims..

Why can KSA not do something like this? What stops the country? Much more manpower….

Well….

This thread has nothing to do with KSA. Stop making every post of yours about the KSA.

As for why the KSA is incompetent in doing something like this.... well we don't have to go too far to know the answer to know about that do we? :azn:

Their ambition is commendable indeed. But for realization. They must unleash tight R&D schedule.
Good luck.

@baajey

The problem is that nothing really stops the Muslim world or the non-Western world (China has shown the way partially although they are still far behind or significantly behind at least) from becoming much more independent than they are.

I just don't understand how far behind the non-Western world is really. STILL to this day. It's shocking actually. On almost every single front. Sometimes you don't realize it before you actually start thinking about it in detail.

I dont know about Arab World .
But in our parts of world till last decade govt or other institutions dont encourage innovation attempt. But now things are changing our private sector is now funding for such attempts.
That is why Western World always keep top position away from rest of the world.?
They always encourage and give enormous funding for innovation attempts of youth students etc.Something we should replicate.
We cant see such spirit in non western world. Our govt dont have money.Arab World have money but they dont encourage that.
In China all things is under the control of Govt.
Social media like FB is also a contribution from western .world.

Absolutely ridiculous !

The UAE are KSA. As KSA is the UAE. There is no distinction with us. Everything accomplished in the GCC is in mutual, in a mutual final goal of interest, for all members of the GCC.

The UAE have up to now the most ahead of the other members. But with our human resources combined, work together and money jointly across the GCC, space projects will accelerate.

I agree with the skeptics.

ALL the work will be done by foreigners.

There will be a few token Arabs involved in the operation -- for the photo ops and to write the checks.

It has got nothing to do with government.
Don't blame government. The fault lies with society.

Western society values people for what they do.
Our societies value people for who they are and whom they know.

That's why anyone in our societies who can go to the West moves there, so they can be judged by their accomplishments, not their connections.

Of course foreigners will be involved like they are involved EVERYWHERE else by large outside of the US and Russia.
No.
I can not speak for China, but ISRO does not involve foreigners.

Almost everything built in the last 2 decades has been Indian made, Indian designed, Indian manufactured.

The only thing we could not build was a cryogenic engine that we imported completely built from Russia. What we buy we tell explicitly and it is a commercial contract between ISRO and private parties.

Now we have succeeded in building a cryogenic engine as well. Bloody complex engineering that!

Is UAE space agency is ahead of Indian ISRO?? :undecided: because ISRO took baby steps like other space agencies before going to Mars, no moon missions no sat launches nothing and here comes news of mission mars. Interesting.
