UAE condemns Pakistan first time

The only thing that can effect Pakistan badly if GCC countries start expelling Pakistanis, imagine 4 million Pakistani come home where jobless rate is already high. Here is what could happen now, Saudis and UAE might start expelling few Pakistani as a good will gesture but they will not expel masses because they wont want to cut ties completely on the fear when their assess are really on fire. Saudia wont do it but they will ask other GCC countries to start creating problems for Pakistan.

ويعد لقاء الوزير الإيراني قائد الجيش الباكستاني سابقة في العرف الديبلوماسي الإيراني في التعامل مع باكستان، إذ لم يعتد المسؤولون المدنيون الإيرانيون على اللقاء مع المسؤولين العسكريين الباكستانيين، ووفق معلومات ديبلوماسية، فإن الجانب الإيراني هو الذي طلب اللقاء بعد انتهاء لقاء الوزير الإيراني مع رئيس الوزراء نواز شريف.

كما عقد قائد الجيش الباكستاني الجنرال راحيل شريف اجتماعاً خاصاً لقادة الفيالق والأسلحة في الجيش الباكستاني، تركز على الوضع في اليمن وموقف باكستان، وتأثير الصراع في اليمن على الأمن القومي الباكستاني. وأكد بيان للجيش الباكستاني وقوف باكستان بالكامل مع أمن المملكة، وعدم السماح لأي قوة كانت بالمساس بسلامة أراضي المملكة ووحدة أراضيها أو التآمر عليها. بينما دان رئيس مجلس علماء باكستان مولانا طاهر أشرفي التمرد الحوثي في اليمن ودعم إيران له، ودعا أشرفي الحكومة الباكستانية إلى عدم الرضوخ لمطالب قادة الأحزاب في البرلمان، وإنما إرسال قوات ومتطوعين باكستانيين إلى المملكة العربية السعودية واليمن للقتال ضد الحوثيين الذين وصفهم بأنهم بغاة مفسدون في الأرض.

وجاءت تصريحات أشرفي بعد اجتماع عقده مسؤولو اتحاد المدارس الدينية الباكستانية، التي يبلغ إجمالي طلبتها 15 مليون شخص، واتحاد أئمة وخطباء المساجد في باكستان، الذين يمثلون أكثر من 75 ألف مسجد في المدن الباكستانية المختلفة.

من جانب آخر رأى البرلمان الباكستاني عدم إرسال قوات إلى داخل اليمن، طالباً من الحكومة الباكستانية عدم الدخول في الصراع الداخلي في اليمن، بيد أن رؤساء الأحزاب وكتلها في البرلمان شددوا على دعم المملكة وأمنها واستقرارها، وأكد رئيس الوزراء نواز شريف في جلسة مفتوحة للبرلمان قبل الجلسة النهائية التي كانت مغلقة، وجوب مناقشة وضع السياسة الإيرانية في المنطقة الإقليمية مع كل الدول، وخصوصاً أن سياسة التدخل الإيراني في عدد من الدول هي التي تسببت في التوتر والاقتتال في أكثر من مكان.

وكان رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني أبلغ وزير الخارجية الإيراني الذي زار إسلام آباد يومي الأربعاء والخميس بأن باكستان ستقف إلى جانب المملكة العربية السعودية جنباً إلى جنب، وستدافع عنها بكل ما أمكنها، مطالباً الجانب الإيراني بوقف دعمه وتمويله وتسليحه المتمردين الحوثيين. وبينما طالب الوزير الإيراني باكستان بلعب دور محايد والدعوة إلى حوار بين الأطراف اليمنية كافة، فإن نواز شريف وقائد الجيش الجنرال راحيل شريف أبلغا الوزير الإيراني بأن أي مفاوضات وحوار بين الأطراف اليمنية يجب أن يكون وفق الصيغة التي أعلنتها المملكة العربية السعودية وشروطها، وهي انسحاب الحوثيين من العاصمة والأماكن التي سيطروا عليها وتسليم السلاح للدولة اليمنية ووقف التمويل الخارجي الإيراني للحوثيين، وإدانة ما قامت به الميليشيات الحوثية التي وصفها رئيس الوزراء والحكومة الباكستانية بأنها ميليشيات متمردة على الدولة خرقت القانون اليمني والقانون الدولي، وأطاحت بالحكومة الشرعية المعترف بها من جانب المنظمات الدولية، بما فيها الأمم المتحدة.


قرقاش: موقف تركيا وباكستان في شأن اليمن «متناقض وخطير»

< اعتبر وزير الدولة للشؤون الخارجية الإماراتي الدكتور أنور قرقاش، أن قرار البرلمان الباكستاني، إعلان «الحياد في الصراع في اليمن»، وتأكيده في الوقت ذاته «دعمه الصريح للسعودية»، قرار «متناقض وخطير وغير متوقع من إسلام أباد».

وقال في تغريدات عدة على صفحته الشخصية في موقع «تويتر» أمس (الجمعة): «الموقف الملتبس والمتناقض لباكستان وتركيا خير دليل على أن الأمن العربي من ليبيا إلى اليمن، عنوانه عربي»، مضيفاً أن «اختبار دول الجوار خير شاهد على ذلك».

وأوضح قرقاش: «يبدو أن أهمية طهران لإسلام أباد وأنقرة، تفوق أهمية دول الخليج، بعدنا الاقتصادي والاستثماري مطلوب، ويغيب الدعم السياسي في اللحظة الحرجة».

وأشار في تغريدة مستقلة، إلى أن «وزير الخارجية التركي يرى تطابق وجهات النظر مع إيران حول اليمن، والحل السياسي مسؤولية تركية وإيرانية وسعودية، مواقف الحياد المتخاذل مستمرة».

وشدد على أن «باكستان مطالبة بموقف واضح لصالح علاقاتها الاستراتيجية مع دول الخليج العربي، المواقف المتناقضة والملتبسة في هذا الأمر المصيري كلفتها عالية».

UAE condemns Pakistan's vote on Yemen
Warns of heavy price for ambiguous stand.

The UAE on Friday strongly condemned a Pakistani decision to stay out of the conflict in Yemen, rejecting Saudi demands for Islamabad to join its military coalition against Houthi rebels.

“The Arabian Gulf is in a dangerous confrontation, its strategic security is on the edge, and the moment of truth distinguishes between the real ally and the ally of media and statements,” Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash tweeted after a unanimous resolution passed by a special session of Pakistan’s parliament.

The resolution, however, backed the government’s commitment to protect Saudi Arabia’s territory, which has so far not been threatened by the conflict.

Gargash said Pakistan is required to show a clear stand in favour of its strategic relations with the six-nation Arab Gulf cooperation Council, as contradictory and ambiguous views on this serious matter will have a heavy price to pay.

“This is nothing but another chapter of laggard impartial stand,” Gargash said, criticising identical views held by Turkey and Iran about the armed conflict in Yemen, as affirmed by the Turkish foreign minister, who had said a political way out of the crisis is the responsibility of Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Tehran seems to be more important to Islamabad and Ankara than the Gulf countries, Gargash added. “Though our economic and investment assets are inevitable, political support is missing at critical moments,” Gargash said.

“The vague and contradictory stands of Pakistan and Turkey are an absolute proof that Arab security — from Libya to Yemen — is the responsibility of none but Arab countries, and the crisis is a real test for neighbouring countries.”

The Pakistan parliament resolution turned down long-standing ally Riyadh’s request for troops, ships and warplanes, saying: “Pakistan should play a mediating role and not get involved in fighting in Yemen.”


“Parliament of Pakistan...underscores the need for continued efforts by the government of Pakistan to find a peaceful resolution of the crisis,” the resolution said.


“(Parliament) desires that Pakistan should maintain neutrality in the Yemen conflict so as to be able to play a proactive diplomatic role to end the crisis.”

Saudi Mufti calls for youth conscription

Riyadh — The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al Shaikh, who is also chairman of the senior scholars authority has called for military conscription of youth.

Shaikh Abdul Aziz said: “We must prepare our youth properly to become a shield for us in the holy war against the enemies of religion and the nation.”

In his Friday sermon at Imam Turki bin Abdullah mosque in Riyadh, he said: “We should well look after our youth and prepare them for enlistment, which will enable them dis-charge their duties effectively.”

“This step is important for our youth towards their religion and for protecting their homeland,” he said, adding that the nation should always be prepared to face enemies.

“We are leading a secure life, a boon that others envied us for,” Shaikh Abdul Aziz said and added that while we should be thankful to Allah for this mercy, our nation should remain alert to defend the religion and country through compulsory military training.

“We should be careful and cautious of the enemies who want to spoil our religion, morals and economy, as well as destroying our unity”, he said, adding that to face such chal-lenges, “we must prepare our youth militarily, intellectually and educationally”.

The point here need to be understand that Yemen is not a matter our 'concern' but 'KSA' is ..... same as Afghanistan was not a matter of concern of Saudi Arab but Pakistan is a matter of her interest from USSR invasion in Afghanistan till to date.

Saudis understand this therefore their reaction is very different then the knee jerk reaction of UAE's foreign minister.

Expressed? yes and many times during last 70 years, but this time they needed to "see" it not "hear" it.

they were expecting (and rightly so) and relying on Pakistan's support, we ditched them and they are hurt. Now they will never trust us again and no matter what we do, we will never be able to wash this away ever. That's the cost nations pay because of their incompetent leaders/politicians. it takes decades to build the trust, just a second to lose it...for good.
