U.S. feared India would intervene in Bangladesh after coup

India probably did not intervene military in 1971 because of the Emergency in that country. Already Indira Gandhi was having a difficult time justifying the emergency so a military intervention soon after would have been disastrous politically.

Are you high or what? We are talking abt '75 here

. .
Chanakyans couldn't have afforded an intervention as that was a people's revolution(shepahi-janata biplop). The political change had full public support and unless Indians were delusional enough to try a sikkim like annexation of a free nation, their was simply no point in trying to intervene. They vented their venemous anger another way i.e by starting the CHT insurgency in line with their "destabilize neighboring countries" doctrine.

Chanakyans have no interest in physically intervening ever in your country, FFS 16 crore hostiles is not a joke.

Damn....

The reason why India didn't militarily intervene was politics. Nothing else.

The world wouldn't have taken it very kindly after all the crap that went on over there.

The world left India to sort out the mess in BD in 71, wanna bet they will leave India to sort it out if it happens again?

Annexation of Bangladesh?

What will happen? Aliens will come to invade BD? :what:

Mir Jaffar thought that by betraying his empire, he'd get a high position after the British sweeped in. In the end, he didn't get any.

History repeats itself I guess.

Exactly - nothing will happen - unless the Islamo fascists go really really crazy, I don't see any harm to BD from any quarters other than radical elements so I wonder why the loud mouth Jamaati's create an unnecessary fear psychosis of an Indian attack or annexation when it didn't even remotely cross our minds.

Jamaatis are a minority party.

The mistake their opponents made was that they converted the war crimes trial issue into a secular vs. religious one. There are many religious parties in BD which have no relations with Jamaat or express open hostility against India.

.
Whats US view now? will it allow India to intervene in BD affairs?

If they are lunatic enough they may, once awami scums are ousted. Either way it would stir up a war and blood bath here which I think they won't mind. I hope they try it as it would help us kick out all dalal parasites from this country once and for all.

Do you have any money to pay to BD ?

They gave 1bn $$ line of credit to their BAL dalals at 1% interest to make roads for their cargo and in return they demanded a free corridor access (i.e 0 transit fee). Out of this not all have been refurbished and some may have been looted by awami scums and so they along with their awami dalals came out with an excuse of "forsaking" $200 mn as a gesture of "friendship". Naturally awami scums agreed to it and one awami adviser even went on to say that taking money from dadas would be uncivilized. Btw currently its found that it would take 7-8 bn $$ to make infrastructure suitable for their lolly-pop dream but BAL is going on with the plans nonetheless.

It is they who are whining for this corridor and they do forced it down our throat via their dalals which we have to pay with heavy interest regardless of whether they get the corridor or not. Hence we have to here about them giving us "aid" every now and then. :)

We can live with Islamist's hating us - that is in their nature, they hate anything Non Muslim or secular and we cannot do anything about it, all we can do is watch from a distance them blowing themselves and a few thousand civilians off or radicalizing their youth to carry out killings. What we are only concerned with is this Islamo fascists do not permeate our borders and create an headache for us.

I said U were not delusional enough to try it back then. Don't know about now. I have seen many delusional indians here on PDF so not sure about the current gen of Indians.

Delusional is not a word that's associated with Indians - but with the people who find existence with 14th century beliefs, anyways it's difficult to communicate with you.

And should there had been any scope to convert a war crimes trial into a another subject? It was nothing more than verbal diarrhea on part of the secularists.

Just because a secularist does or says something, doesn't mean he/she is always correct. It is equally foolish to believe otherwise.

Other than molotov cocktails and riots, there had been no suicide bombings or mass shootings in BD.

Does that apply to Indian Muslims? They are pretty primitive for the most part you know ;)

I happened to see live raw videos of rampaging mobs from Bangladesh and feel sorry for such a state of affairs. One cannot wrong a secularist when he's against a fanatic - no matter what and no matter what logic it caters to - the secularist is always right and the fundamentalist is always wrong and that is the most basic rule. Rule of law and fanaticism do not go hand in hand.

War crimes have been committed and it's criminal to not bring the culprits to justice - I think BD Govt took too long for the process to take place.
