Two Saudi pilots killed in helicopter crash (Yemen)

Wrong. Arabs defeated Chinese in the battle of Talas in 750.

All Arab empires were larger than the largest Chinese empire. Chinese were and are the dominating force (culturally as well) in Eastern Asia as Arabs are it in the Middle East/Western Asia and North Africa.

Chinese culture/influence did not reach much territory outside of China proper. Only tiny Korea and isolated islands that later became Japan. Arab culture on the other hand is a different beast. Case in point Senegal and Western Papua. Those two places have a lot in common that is connected with Arab influence.

Even the areas where a large Chinese diaspora is present, a similarly large Arab diaspora is present. Case in point Indonesia, Malaysia etc. Here the two largest non-native populations are Arab and Han Chinese.

Singapore another example.

We have people in KSA of Chinese origins (Hui mostly but also Uyghur) who have lived in KSA for 1000 + years due to Hajj and Umrah. One of our most high-ranking generals is a Hui Chinese. There are China towns in cities in KSA, Ta'if for example. More Chinese live in the UAE than anywhere else in the region.

Anyway Arabs and Chinese were allies for centuries and had cordial ties outside of that 1 battle. Today is the same case. I respect Chinese more than most others.

Arabs were the only people at the Chinese Emperors court who refused to bow down to him. This usually carried the death penalty. The Chinese Emperor did not execute due to the respect for the two greatest contemporary powers of the time back then.

Written by Chinese chroniclers.

An Arab envoy presented horses and a girdle to the Chinese in 713, but he refused to pay homage to the Emperor, said, he said "In my country we only bow to God never to a Prince". The first thing the court was going to do was to murder the envoy, however, a minister intervened, saying "a difference in the court etiquette of foreign countries ought not to be considered a crime." A second Arab envoy performed the required rituals and paid homage to the Emperor in 726 A.D. He was gifted with a "purple robe and a girdle".[32]

No "Turkish here". That is a 100 year entity. You probably meant Turkic.

Well, I don't know about the historical details (I was not there) but only that it was the first and only time in history where Arabs and Chinese (Han) fought against each other and the Arabs were victorious. However have in mind that I was having a bit of fun with @undertakerwwefan and using a "special jargon here" that we both use when we interact.

Since the Battle of Talas in 750, Sino-Arab ties have been close and respectful and centered around trade. To this very day the trade between the Arab world and China reaches a staggering 250 billion USD (that was the case last year).

Thousands of Arabs and even more Chinese do business in both parts of the world. Intermarriages occur despite belonging to very different races (Caucasian and Mongoloid) and having very different religions/philosophies although there are many commonalities as well.

Arabs and Han Chinese are the two largest ethic groups in the world. Both are ancient civilizations and imperial powers who in the past few centuries have had hard times (the hardest in recorded history) and suffered from Western meddling and colonization.

I suggest watching the speeches of President Xi Jinping.

From this July during the Arab-Sino Cooperation Council.

A speech from 2016 during the same Cooperation Council (Arab League this time around in fact).

Arabs will never be at conflict with China unless China out of a sudden (and foolishly) adopts US/past British/French policies 100 years ago.

It's symbolic that the first foreign Chinese military based is built in a de facto Arab League country (Djibouti) and built next to a Saudi Arabian military base.

Why China and Saudi Arabia Are Building Bases in Djibouti

By Joseph Braude

China and Saudi Arabia are building military bases next door to US AFRICOM in Djibouti—and bringing the consequences of American withdrawal from the region into stark relief.

I think it is beautiful and poetic as a big fan of China's foreign policy in the Arab world and the mutually beneficial cooperation where no political strings are attached (barking about human rights, pushing your viewpoint on the other party etc., talking like to an unequal). Arabs and Chinese speak to each other as equals. I can say the same about Arabs and Indians. It's purely mutually beneficial business. Like during past millennia where it was a win-win cooperation (trade). Peaceful coexistence. There is no preaching even to this day. This is due to ancient trade ties and ties as whole and mutual respect.

You won't ever hear the Chinese president say, "things are great but we would like to see "x or y release" or you stopping "executing x or y criminal". Or vice versa for that matter (obviously).

I know that a large group of Han Chinese are "afraid about Muslims" and look at Islam skeptically but that should not have any impact on the ties. The Chinese tourists who actually visits Arab countries learn the ground reality.

However feel free to destroy extremism, the Islamic version included, and feel free to protect everything that is dear to you and which can threaten your society. However painting all 1.7 billion Muslims as "enemies" would be an incredibly foolish thing to do and not true to actual Chinese history or your ancestors who interacted with Muslims and had much more fond memories of them than the first contacts with Christian (Western) missionaries. I am sure you know this history well as you are taught this in school from a fairly young age.

Among Hindus in South Asia = Muslims are evil while forgetting that the Muslims that harmed Hindus were not Arab. Arabs actually had cordial ties with India and that part of the world (pragmatic trade ties) and that continues to this day. There is a natural historical trust. Similarly with China.

The "Muslims" that you were targeted by were converted Mongols mostly and Turkic nomadic tribes. Not Arab, Persian, African, Caucasian etc. Muslims. Have that in mind.

I know that the idea of Muslims = Arabs is still predominating but educated people know better.

No harding feelings, just a small battle between two empires, both of them didn't send their best troops .And at that time Arab empire was a rising power and Tang empire was a declining power,Tang was already losing control of central asia even before the battle

But I agree today China and Arab world have no conflict of interests,Cooperations are always welcome

It's educated saying, an illiterate person neither afraid to kill or nor afraid to die.

It's educated saying, an illiterate person neither afraid to kill or nor afraid to die.

Education and civility never created a single empire or power in human history. If that was the case there would never be wars yet humans have been killing each other since we appeared on this planet. First few millennia using our bare hands or primitive tools such as stones until lately having developed deadly weapons (nuclear bombs, hydrogen bombs, chemical weapons etc.) that our forefathers could never have imagined in their most deranged dreams or when under the influence of substances.

Not being afraid as a soldier on a battlefield has nothing to do with illiteracy. Soldiers are meant to kill other people (soldiers). That's their job when wars erupt. Somebody has to do that ugly job. 99% of all people are not involved usually. Whether today or historically.

All those people who are most respected nowadays due to status (ruling families and past ruling families, nobility etc.) created their status not by handing out flowers, fruits, nuts or dates but usually by holding a sword in one hand and a shield in the other. Thus they created a name and a legacy for themselves and their offspring could live off that legacy and enhance it or sometimes loose it.

Today this is mostly done in the business world or politics (power and influence) where money is the key goal. Back then money, power and political influence were also key aspiration.

Prophet Muhammad (saws) encompasses all those aspects in a good way. Spiritual leader, military leader, businessman, community leader, ruler, messenger, great ties with women and important people around him and his adversaries etc. Similar with other past prophets and important historical personalities.

Similar to today as well. To achieve something that will give you a legacy in life you cannot hide or be weak.

On a battlefield you can die if you hesitate for a second.

Going into a battle thinking "Oh my God, I better not be ready to shot/kill my enemy, "Oh my God, I am so afraid that I am barely moving etc." is a recipe for disaster. Those that can't handle it learn to handle it, get killed or end up using some drugs. Like various terrorist members across the world who tend to be high on drugs from the Houthis (khat), Taliban (heroin), ISIS (captagon) etc.

No harding feelings, just a small battle between two empires, both of them didn't send their best troops .And at that time Arab empire was a rising power and Tang empire was a declining power,Tang was already losing control of central asia even before the battle

Definitely and well said.

Saudi will never accept their mistakes..its a country that got rich off their oil and arrogancy is rampant to the core from all that money. Its honestly shameful that yemen being a neighbouring islamic country is being destroyed by another "Strictly islamic" country. When the only thing islam has truly ever preached is peace..not only are they destroying the name of islam but also showing that they lack humanity. And then all the muslims have to suffer coz these people give the impression that islam is about violence. Money is truly the root of all evil.

Power and money corrupts.

Soldiers are trained not to take this into consideration on a battlefield most of the time.

Dying on a battlefield against enemies while fighting for your country, people and religion is a great honor as well in Arabic culture.

This has never stopped Arabs.

Arabs used to raid Italians and Brits on horse back 100 years ago successfully from Libya to Iraq. Najdi Ikhwanis raided deep into British-conrolled Transjordan, Iraq, Syria, Kuwait etc. as well. Only fighter jets of the time stopped them.

Well said just like the saying of poet

Only 4 helicopters/fighter jets/planes have crashed in Yemen so far in the past 3.5 years. 5 Suhada in total.

Not really outside of a very, very tiny group of people. KSA is one of the largest welfare states. Poor people/not well-to-do people in KSA would be/are considered as at least middle income in most countries of the world.

Last time I checked a large percentage of Turks are obese as well. Typical of the region due to the food that we eat. Obesity levels in KSA have been dropping dramatically in KSA in recent years while increasing elsewhere in the region. KSA is nowhere near the most obese country in the region either.

By nature Saudi Arabians are tall people on average and quite bulky. It's in the genes.

Save your nonsense speeches for idiots considering your involvement in Syria and Iraq in recent years. KSA is in Yemen to defeat a Houthi terrorist cults and restore legitimacy in Yemen which is why 90% of Yemen is under our control and why most people support us and why we fight with our Yemeni brothers side by side alongside other Arab brothers (not only Arab).

Civilian casualties are minimal compared to the size of Yemen, geography (highly mountainous), complexity of the conflict, terrorists hiding in civilian areas deliberately etc. KSA has had no problems admitting faults (when targeting wrong targets due to fighting against an terrorist group that hides among civilians and not a ordinary army) as done recently.

But great for you to post this thread and pretend to care for those 2 pilots. Not that I care about whether you care or not, lol. Just love the obsession.

Use your Imaan and your intelligence to resolve the issues. It is un-Islamic to kill to push a solution. Ask the question what our prophet (pbuh) have done to resolve the situation, and it is not starve millions of children and kill hundreds of thousands of people.

Actually money is just a tool, one can used it for betterment of humanity or the destruction of humanity. Money in the wrong hands is a dangerous proposition and trump is the greatest example of that. The same goes for the wahabi princes in KSA and UAE.
