QUETTA: Two Pakistan Navy men were martyred and another was injured in an attack on their vehicle in the Ganz area in the coastal district of Gwadar on Saturday.

Official sources said the Pakistan Navy’s vehicle was on its way to Ganz from Jiwani when unidentified attackers opened fire on it with automatic weapons.

One sailor of Pakistan Navy and a barber were martyred and another Navy man suffered injuries, a security official said.

The deceased were identified as Sohail, the sailor, and Noman. The injured was identified as Raza.

Soon after the incident, security forces rushed to the scene of the occurrence and took the injured to hospital.

The bodies were sent to their home towns and the injured was later shifted to Karachi.

Assistant Commissioner Gwadar retired Captain Athar Abbas said the area where the attack took place had been cordoned off and combed but no arrest had been reported.

Investigation is under way.

Gwadar safe City is already on the way, its fencing, which is part of its overall master plan, was almost complete before being stopped due to wrong propaganda.

By looking at vast barren areas and terrain condition the overall Baluchistan in general and specifically coastal areas can't be secured 100% that's a fact however we may work on limiting the terrorist activity with minimal loss of life/ Following measures are pointed out many times and some progress is hinted though much slow.

1- Use of light armored vehicles for transportation.
2- More use of drone surveillance on random basis.
3- Centralized security system having both air and ground resources for immediate action i.e Mi 35s or light armored Helis along with drones. In case of ground based resources light armored protected Humvee type vehicles.
4- Development of social/economic infrastructure in area as whenever any video of these areas comes they look like stone age. There should be more and more educational institutions there with Baluch faculty off course should be selected after thorough scrutiny. On other side the tourism industry should be developed creating job opportunities for Baloch population in tourism and allied industries.

It is sad to see that perhaps IK and Military leadership was once on right path but now they have diverted and set wrong priorities.

I don't think there is any seriousness regarding security issues of Balochistan in Islamabad/Rawalpindi - As if trying just to manage the situation.

Would like to hear/read POVs of Locals of those affected areas.

Lets be realistic on certain things, Yes Iran has in the past fueled sectarianism inside Pakistan, there is no denying but it has largely remained sectarianism, killing people of other sects. This is different, killing of army personals is an Indian hall mark. India is the only one who shelters, trains and support terrorist organizations like BLA.
Iran is no saint however fueling terrorism inside Balochistan will be last in their priority list since it can very well spread into their own part of Balochistan, so it should make little sense for them to fuel terrorism inside Balochistan. India on the other hand has made their intention very clear about Balochistan. Let us not divert attention from the real enemy here.
