What's new

Turkish Special Operations Forces

It's SG Commando carbine we are talking. Only thing I like about this rifle is his penetration power.
Looks like SAT has a very wide arsenal of weapons,in recent photos i saw M107,M95 and now this.If only they purchased some modern helmets and headsets...

They have a very rich black budget. They always had a wide arsenal. But a serious reform was needed at equipment and gear. And that was completed at the early 2013. The same thing goes for TAF Special Forces as well.

Thank God they were done with all these at the end of 2013.

Equipment and gear wise, our SF/SOFs promoted to the level of France, Spain, Sweden, Norway.

If we can push it just a little harder at gears and equipment, the exact level where Sweden is would be awsome.

Considering we have more SF personnel than most of those countries,i think even this is enough. But for example a OpsCore helmet wouldn't hurt :) (I know they have some)

BTW i found these photos, they may be OKK operatives but they wear blue berets, they may be commandos but they use M4 carbines.Any ideas? My guess is that they are OKK,because of the sunglasses :D

I don't think that they are ÖKK. ÖKK and SAT wear US style tailored uniforms. JÖAK maybe. They have M4A1s as well. Seemed more like the VIP escort unit of JÖAK. If I am not wrong there's a special unit within JÖAK rather than the operational teams, tasked with close protection. As the guy wears blue beret as well. JÖAK's close protection group most likely.

Definitely not OKK, different uniforms..

I forgot to mention that these photos are a bit old, sorry. But some still wear this uniform.Below are the most recent photos from 25 August

But i guess you are right, because OKK personnel go through hell to wear that beret, they would never wear blue berets.

Yes. But operational personnel sticks to US tailored utility uniforms. However, the HQ Staff of OKK do wear the standart tailored type of it.

TuAF CSAR(HvKK MAK)
-They go through 54 weeks of hard training(approx. 1 year)
-They accept personnel from all branches of TSK
-They are capable of conducting operations in all conditions(sea, air, land)
With the other one being OKK's CSAR,they are one of the two confirmed CSAR teams of TSK.I read somewhere that land forces have a CSAR team also but not confirmed yet.

Photos from Işık-2012 International SAR exercise(They are also a very shy unit like all special units of TSK :))

What makes you say that?

They clearly are,you can understand that by their camouflage(standard land forces camo.).And these photos are from Cooperative SAREX 2014 held in Hungary. This is the CSAR team that Turkey sent.
