Turkish Sensor and Detector Programs

Something i don't get about the Kalkan Air Defense Early Warning Radar is the minimum range Aselsan has given it in specifications, it says 40km range yet, when we have glimpses of the Kalkan radars operational software it indicates a range of 80km.

Bro, Aselsan heart your complain and updated their documents. The new updated range of Kalkan Radar: Bigger than 60km.

A new SAR antenne to be integrated on Gokturk-3 satellite will be developed by Aselsan as well.

Hey guys in one of the first pages pics. I Saw a ship design guess it was related with the naval radars. Anyway is the confirmed design of TF-2000? Thx.

An industry source said that more than US $1 billion in combined R&D spending and business contracts could be invested in the next five years.

“There are numerous ongoing programs, and a governmental dedication to invest in new technologies,” he said.

One ambitious program involves efforts by military specialist Aselsan to develop a radar that the company hopes will be fitted to the TF-X, an indigenous fighter jet Tusas that Turkish Aerospace Industries has designed.

The Turkish fighter program awaits the government’s go-ahead to progress into the development phase.

“This radar can be based on gallium nitride technology,” one Aselsan official said. Developing gallium nitride technology is one of the defense-related R&D programs targeted for development last year by Turkey’s arms procurement agency, the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM).

Gallium nitride is a next-generation semiconductor that promises smaller, more power radars. US companies have been leading its development.

Also this Aeslan company is private one or Gov. Owned??

Design process is okay if prototype production begin we can see it in 3 years i think :undecided:

Not really :)

"conceptual design phase" is complete. There are 3 competing designs as mentioned in this thread. One of these designs will be chosen which will mark the start of "detail design phase". This alone may take longer than 3 years all by itself. First flight planned to be in 2023 as far as I know.

You are right i confused. Actually i passed detail design phase :) so as i read design is selected and it gonna be two engines isnt it ?

First flight is planned to be in 2023 , Ok. But the question was roll out time..

If we think , to fly in 2023 ; you must have complated plane's ground tests. So you shall ROLL OUT it at least a couple years. Maybe 2020-21..
