Kelvin Hughes To Supply SharpEye S-band Radar For Qatari Coastguard Patrol Boats

Qatar’s Coast and Borders Security Department has selected Kelvin Hughes to provide SharpEye S-band radar and new 12kW radar for its 17 patrol boats currently being built at ARES Shipyard, Turkey.

All the electronic equipment for the vessels - which include 24m, 34.5m and 48m versions of the ARES Shipyard Hercules series - will be supplied by Elektro Deniz of Turkey which has contracted Kelvin Hughes to provide the radar systems. The SharpEye S-band will be used for surface search and the 12kW radar for navigation. Installation is expected to start later this May and to continue over the next two years.

With its advanced target detection capability, the solid-state SharpEye provides an industry-leading level of maritime situational awareness.

Barry Jones, Kelvin Hughes’ Regional Sales Manager for Turkey, commented: “This important new contract win in Turkey from ARES Shipyard is a reflection of the growing interest we are continuing to see in SharpEye from all of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. In part this is due to a strategic decision to adopt a convergent approach to that of the Royal Navy whose ships, submarines and shore facilities are all now being re-equipped with SharpEye radar technology”.

The MV Savarona (also sometimes M/Y, for motor yacht) is the Presidential yacht of the Republic of Turkey reserved for the use of the President of Turkey. She was the largest in the world when launched in 1931, and remains, with a length of 136 m (446 ft), one of the world’s longest. Although owned by the government of Turkey, she had been briefly leased out to Turkish businessman Kahraman Sadıkoğlu. However, upon orders of the Turkish Government her lease was terminated and she reverted to the Turkish State. The MV Savarona is now the State Yacht of the Republic of Turkey and reserved for the use of the President. The first time she was used again for an official reception was in March 2015

Türk Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı adına Savunma Sanayi Müsteşarlığı tarafından Sedef Tersanesi’nde inşa edilecek olan TCG ANADOLU'nun ilk kaynak töreni, Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan'ın katılımıyla 30 Nisan 2016 Cumartesi günü gerçekleşecek. 2021 yılında Deniz Kuvvetleri'nin envanterine girecek, Türkiye'nin ilk mini uçak ve helikopter gemisi TCG ANADOLU için geri sayım başladı.

Sedef Tersanesi'nde inşa edilecek olan Türkiye'nin karargah gemisi TCG ANADOLU'nun ilk kaynak töreni, Cumhurbaşkanı Recep Tayyip Erdoğan'ın katılımıyla, 30 Nisan 2016 Cumartesi günü gerçekleşecek.

Türk Deniz Kuvvetleri’nin amiral gemisi olarak tasarlanan TCG Anadolu, Türkiye’nin en büyük gemisi olacak ve 700 kişilik amfibi taburunu operayonlara intikal ettirebilecek kapasiteye sahip gemide bir hastane de bulunacak.

TCG ANADOLU'NUN SİLAH SİSTEMİ YERLİ OLACAK

2021’de hizmete girmesi planlanan geminin ana görevi amfibi görev gücünü nakletmek ve helikopter operasyonu yapmak.

İkinci görev olarak da insani yardım ve kriz bölgelerinden insani transferi gibi amaçlar için kullanılacak.

Tamamen çelik olacak gemi, 20-21 knot (37-39 kilometre) sürat yapabilecek. Tam yüküyle 28 bin ton ağırlığa erişecek gemi, 225 metre boy ve 32 metre eninde olacak.

Havuz güvertesinde 4 adet Mekanize Çıkarma Aracı (LCM) veya 2 adet HavaYastıklı ÇıkarmaAracı (LCAC) taşıyabilecek gemi de 2 adet Personel Çıkarma Aracı (LCVP) bulunabilecek.

13 tank, toplam 27 adet Amfibi Zırhlı Aracı (AAV) (21 adet personel AAV, 3 adet komuta AAV, 3 adet kurtarma AAV), 6 adet Zırhlı Personel Taşıyıcı (ZPT) ve 33 adet çeşitli araç kıtalararası taşınabilecek.

16 Knot rüzgarda yükleme ve boşaltma, 27 knot kuvvetli rüzgarda bile helikopter operasyonu yapabilecek gemi tüm silah ve savunma sistemini de kullanabilecek.

Personel, helikopter ve araçlar için asansörler bulunan geminin 348 kalıcı personeli olacak. 56 uçuş pesoneli, 50 hastane personeli, 200 karargah pesoneli ve 700 kişilik amfibi komandosunu barındıracabilecek geminin silah sistemini Havelsan ve Aselsan yapacak.

225 metre uzunluğunda tasarlanan TCG Anadolu, pek çok açıdan ilkleri barındıracak. Savaş helikopterleri ve savaş uçakları için yeniden dizayn edilen pisti, 12 derecelik eğimle daha elverişli hale getirildi. Böylece gemiye F35-B sınıfı, 5. Nesil av ve bombardıman uçakları da inebilecek.

TN plan new long Range MPA after Meltem-III there are some Speculations about P-8 Poseidon. I have doubts the US would agree to sell Long Range MPA to Turkey, which give TN the Capabillity to Patrol in arabian Sea, the whole mediterran Sea and on moroccan Atlantic Coast. Even if US would sell P-8 to Turkey I doubt they will allow turkish made Subsystems and Weapons. I rather it will be a modfied Airbus A-320/21 or TRJ-628 MPA.

Savunma Sanayii Müsteşarlığının 2,7 milyar dolar bütçeli Yeni Tip Denizaltı Projesi kapsamında, iç bloklarının ilk etap ürünlerinin teslimatı yarın yapılacak.

Gölcük Tersanesi'nde inşa edilen denizaltının iç bloklarının imalatını Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendisliği ve Ticaret AŞ altında Gürdesan Gemi Makine Sanayi tarafından gerçekleştiriliyor.

Bu kapsamda gerçekleştirilen ilk imalat, Milli Savunma Bakanı İsmet Yılmaz'ın da katılması beklenen törenle yarın saat 14.00'te teslim edilecek.

Gürdesan, Yeni Tip Denizaltı Projesi kapsamında toplam 840 tonluk çelik bloklarının ilk etap üretimini tamamladı. Proje, Türk gemi inşasında yan sanayinin gücünü göstermesi açısından önem taşıyor.

Yeni tip denizaltıların inşa aşaması 5 blokun birleştirilmesinden oluşuyor. Bloklar ekipmanlarla donatılacak ve tüp halinde birleştirilip diğer donatımlarının yapılabilmesi için havuza kaydırılacak.

Yeni tip denizaltılar havadan bağımsız tahrik sistemine sahip olacak. Denizaltı bünyesinde bulunan hidrojen ve oksijen tanklarının tepkimesi sonucunda yakıt hücresi sistemiyle elektrik enerjisi üretilecek ve bu sistem atmosferik havaya ihtiyaç duymadan denizaltının çok daha uzun süre su altında kalmasını sağlayacak.
