Turkish Naval Programs

No big, nuclear sub perhaps in 2050...
Project 629: Submarines named Golf class were conventionally operated submarines armed with ballistic missile abilities - we don't need Nuc Subs - and why is North Korea able to build SSBN - but not Turkey? That is so weird...

.
Do we have larger submarine classes in our inventory? Able to launch ballistic missiles or cruise missiles? If not, is there a plan to get some?

edit:

Why is Turkey buying 2 LHD? Why this form of 'light aircraft carrier' that would only be able to carry jump jets? Wouldn't it have made more sense to buy at least one real aircraft carrier instead of relying on the goodwill of the west? The carrier would be no less vulnerable to enemy navies, but would bring more skills than the LHD - we could launch fighter planes from there - and helicopters - and drones?

"The final contract for the construction of the ship was signed with the Navantia-Sedef consortium on 7 May 2015. The commissioning of the ship is scheduled for 2021, and the estimated cost of the ship according to the final specifications is $1 billion"

Further:

"According to the original plan, the Turkish Navy wanted a slightly shorter flight deck without the ski-jump ramp in front, to be optimized for use with only helicopters"

The Nimitz class costs on average 8B $, which makes a difference - but instead of 2 LHD for 2B $, wouldn't a real carrier have made more sense? If we have the know-how at all -
in any case, many countries have carriers, it doesn't have to be a big US carrier...
For example - the Italian Cavour Carrier ~ 1,4 B $

Just some questions - no hate pls

Second LHD isn't official yet.
The project started as LPD than it evolved to be LHD.
Turkish Navy may interest to operate real aircraft carrier but needs to be experienced smaller classed first.

Gas Turbines For The Fast Fleet Replenishment Tanker

General Electric has announced that it will provide two LM2500 marine gas turbines for the new Fleet Replenishment Tanker of the Turkish Navy.

While it is not common to install expensive gas turbines to supply ships, the Turkish Navy required a fast tanker to keep up with the frigates and replenish them. Thus the new fleet tanker is getting LM2500’s.

A contract for the construction of the Fleet Replenishment Tanker was signed between Sefine Shipyard in Yalova in July 2017. The ship will provide fuel, water, food, spare parts, medical supplies and ammunition for the combat ships

She is expected to enter service in 2023.

Characteristics:
Length: 194.8 meters
Width: 24.4 meters
Displacement: 22,000 tons
Cruising Range: 4500 nautical miles (NM)
Length of the Sea:> 30 days
Economic Life:> 30 years

UAV Doctrine for Aircraft Carrier

Aircraft carriers are strategic platforms in terms of being able to carry and use air power anywhere in the world seas at any time. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which are developing day by day, are gradually taking their place in the seas.

The Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Royal Navy began preparations for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles on Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers. A senior official at the RAF recently made a statement about development at a conference. Within the scope of the process, HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08) and HMS Prince of Wales (R09) will operate UAVs in addition to the F-35B Lightning IIs, which are described as swarming drones and "loyal wingmen" drones. Some evaluation studies will be made for the use of unmanned platforms. Then, the autonomous wingman program will be launched and new systems will be developed within the scope of needs.

The UK has already begun work on UAVs that can accompany manned platforms as part of its Tempest program.

The era is now an era in which UCAVs are more prominent. The Harrier / F35-B predicament on aircraft carriers will be history for up to 5 years.

Turkey will probably swith these ships to TF-2000 type of air deffense ships if it needs for war. Denmark did it, others did it. It is long, has huge engine to support and so on...

Turkey can't afford an aircraft carrier and the development cost of a carrier-based fighter.

Turkiye spent over $60 billion for humanitarian aid to muslim countries in the last 8 years

to build Aircraft Carrier = $4 billion
to buy 40 Fighter Jets = max $4 billion

and Turkiye doesnt need to develop carrier-based Fighter Jet
Turkiye can buy Fighter Jets for indigenous Aircraft Carrier
so Turkiye urgently needs Aircraft Carrier for Libya and Eastern Mediterranean
