Turkish Naval Programs

Yes It is... Turkey choosed ESSM because We are an official partner of ESSM program and Roketsan has increadible design-development share coming with those missiles.BTW, I do not think that USA congress will give permission USA institues to export SM-2 missiles for Turkey...

Without SM-2 or a Missile with similar Capabillities TF-2000 would have only limited AAW Capabillities, SAMP-T could be an Alternative for SM-2. It is likely possible in future that Turkey could develop Long - Range AD Missile, but I expect such Missile could be ready after 2020.

Bro, I think Developing a long range missile is completely different story than middile and low level one so We need to take more way to reach such level. At current statues, Prototipes will be operational in 5 years for low altitude, 7 years for medium altitude Vertical launch missiles. Despite Initial requirement has been described for Turkish Land Forces, It is for sure that Turkish Navy will also use those missile for area defence missions...

3 - 9 A-129 choppers will be acquired as a stop-gap.

4 - Low and Medium altitude SAM systems: Design and development contracts will be signed with Aselsan/Roketsan.

5 - New machine gun project: (to replace MG3s etc.) Design and development contracts will be signed with MKEK.

6 - Moship and Ratship: Istanbul Denizcilik company is chosen, talks will start with them.

7 - Indigenous light helicopter project: a light training helicopter for the Land forces will be developed by TAI which will also be used as a commercial helicopter.

8 - Last agreements will be discussed and finalized with USA before placing an order of F-35s in 2011.

No bro...Turkey has already been trying to order some second-hand attack helicopters as a stop-gap solution until T-129's join into turkish Army so We clicked the doors of USA many times to order W class Cobra helicopters but They have rejected us.. That's why We have to steer different adresses to order those helos...
