Turkish Missile Programs

To have a second strike capability, you need quick reaction time. That's why we need a satellite network combined with long range radars which is build up . Even the US could not completely intercept all missiles if Russia would dare a massive first strike. But if we would have a deterrence capability comparable with that of Israel or Pakistan it would be enough. I believe that even some stupid decision makers in Moskva would not dare to destroy the world. Even the use of tactical nukes could lead to a fast escalation. Nukes, Chemical and Biological weapons are weapons of cowards. Remember Japan capitulated after the use of 2 nukes. Turkey has to be prepared cause we live in the most dangerous region of the globe. EU , especially Germany feels safe also without the US - Nuke deterrence cause there is the French Nuke Deterrence and strong ties between the two countries.

But we have our Pakistani brothers and some hidden cards! Lets say " SHADOW FORCE" That's why German BND is monitoring very intensive Turkey.

He is right. If you think our army projection for the 2030' s, THAAD can be proper choice but we have not a time to order new system i think. Or we gonna order it but we still ask for the USA for PAC's at the same time.
We need PAC 2-3 immediately.

Korkut and Hisar' s plus THAAD.. No body can't dare to attack us except angry russian and chineseeeee members in here.
It's pointless to discuss, there will be a cold day in hell before Turkey procures THAAD systems...
Fvcking 6 batteries of them... laughable.

our officials thought PATRIOT was too expensive and they went after HQ-9.

let's have our feet on the ground shall we?
to say that it's "doubtful" that US senate would authorize the sales of such a high-tech weaponry would be generous.

I'd rather pay a few billion dollars to Pakistan and get some nuclear warheads.

If they are willing to sell THAAD systems to the UAE & Oman, then why would they not allow to sell it to Turkey?
Would it be expensive as hell, but at least we could then shut the putin trolls up when they brag about their s400 systems :)

@LegionnairE
HQ-9 deal includes how many batteries do you know ?
4 IIRC

They say it was to counter Iran but they've already placed an AN/TPY2 in Kürecik as part of EPAA to counter Iran...

Oman paid 2.1 billion dollars for two firing units and 96 missiles.... that's like half a battery...

and UAE has paid 3.5 billion dollars through FMS the usually "cheap" channel of buying things

All of these things to counter Iran's second-rate ballistic missiles... Imagine how many billions of dollars would we have to spend to counter the fvcking Russia! probably the largest ballistic missile arsenal of the world.

about S400 I say that don't panic. It's within our range of anti-radiation weapons we can easily take care of it if the situation arises.

Russia has hundreds of more fighter aircraft than us, that's what we have to worry about... leave the nuclear umbrella to NATO

and buy more F16s and F35s

we still have a lot... and if it was up to me, I'd offer the hundreds of pilots who have resigned in protest in recent years due to political turmoil back their jobs.

I bet there are dozens of ex-TURAF pilots working at lufthansa right now
they resigned because their brothers in arms were falsely accused and imprisoned in Ergenekon-Balyoz cases.

We can get them back if we can undo the injustice that's been done.
This is a time we need to be united.

F-35 Joint Strike Fighter remains years away from combat readiness - Fortune

F-35 program is delayed. Maybe we can get more F-16 .

The US were engaged in Syria from SU-30s and decided to deploy more capable F-15 Cs to Incirlik.

Yes, to be TuAF pilot is attractive again.

Civil airline pilot is an attractive job worldwide, there is a great opportunity in future.
If you are military pilot you can easy qualify to civil airliner pilot.
But if you are civil airliner pilot, you can not become "easy" an fighter jet pilot,
you could theoretical fly transport, tanker or AEW planes after short training.
In mobilization case all retired pilots has to join their bases, as all Turkish Citizens who has SEFER GÖREV EMRI.

Hisar A and O systems took about
10 years to develop maybe Hisar U will take longer. We need ballistic missile defence fast but it will take another 10 years for that.

No shame in getting more F-16 or other aircraft, the u.s is thinking about acquiring more 4.5 generation jets because F-35 is too expensive and not ready.

The air force needs to be like the Israeli one in size, 350+ modern fighter aircraft. We have ~240 F-16,s plus ~45 well upgraded F4,s. That is not enough for Russia. As our military planners stated earlier we need heavy emphasis on Air Force and navy but you can't just talk and not spend. We need to be spending $25 billion a year not $15-18 billion.

Long range cruise missiles that can takeout threatening Russian air and naval bases must be acquired. I think some used patriots need to be acquired as well until Hisar U is ready. Even if patriots arrive in 5 years that's good because hisar u will take at least 10 years. Right now we are depending on American aegis equipped destroyers for ballistic missile defense. If you look they always have a destroyer like that in our area.

F-35 Too Expensive: US Air Force Might Buy 72 New F-15 or F-16 Fighter Jets | The Diplomat

We still want to over haul our whole armored force, and the navy. Current budget is not sufficient and that really does show, the army is completely out dated, we are a driving Cold War museum. Tulpar is ready but there are no orders, 6x6 and 8x8 are not being acquired yet. It will be years until the navy is updated. So far we got new patrol boats and 2 corvettes. Very little progress in the military field over the past decade from the inventory aspect if you look objectively. Btw I am talking inventory not what we are able to produce or planning to procure in 10 years. (platforms)We need more toys asap. Look at the threats we face.
