What's new

Turkish Missile Programs

Bokdil's writings on DefenceNews have been pretty neutral, unlike his writings on some other "news" sites. Probably there's a higher standard of writing there compared to the Turkish sites he's been paid by in the past.

Nearly all his articles are Politically motivated towards Erdogan. I am fine with this but dont talk BS about the Turkish defence industry in the process.

If you think all the anti-government propaganda in the Turkish media can only harm 1 person like a laser you need to wake up. It's designed to destabilise the whole country, including the defence industry. I don't want to get off topic in this thread but Bokdil is Bokdil. Everyone knows what his real motivation is.

The best way to deal with such targets as terrorist camps is using armed UAVs. It will introduce the element of surprise to the attacks unlike the F16 attacks as we conduct now. Because the UAVs can spend long hours in the air terrorist won't be able to be alarmed as they do now by the taking off of jets from bases.

It's the poor mans bomber.. Cluster munitions are good for wide area of effect, however they lack destructiveness of a conventional bomb. There's also the reliability issues - having 30+ bomblets there's an increased chance that one or two may not go off and could lead to bomblets being re-purposed by the enemy combatants..

In this video, you can see how close bomblets drop near these soldiers, if it were 1000lb bomb they would have most likely suffered life threatening injuries or death..

Since Turkey doesn't have bombers, cluster bombs will have to do.. :/

Effectivesness is but one issue; and then there is the issue of acceptibility. Some weapons are objectionable even when they are not weapons of mass destruction. Now, you need to fight the targets with worthy wepons.

What about thermobaric bomb ? what happened to that project?

I was thinking of that. Because it's the only conventional solution for airstrikes against PKK, if not bunker-busters.

Many people laughed at Devlet Bahçeli when he said the solution is at hoisting the Turkish Flag in Kandil. As a matter of fact it's true. Unless, Turkish troops don't put the dirt of their boots on Kandil with a cross border incursion its only a joke to give serious harm to PKK.

As for now having dozens of fighting groups in Northern Iraq that doesn't seem likely to happen. The only option left is man-hunting and target killing. Directly aiming for HVTs and senior terrorists, at least until the civil wars in Iraq and Syria come to an end.

@Neptune Birader Iran forumdaki o dalla serpintine a yazdigin ne anlama geliyor ?

It seems classified or secret info :

A recently leaked classified document involving a top (former) procurement agency official has revealed that Turkey has started development on a new type of weapon that utilizes thermobaric concepts. Authorities were not immediately available for comment to confirm or deny the new information..
The leaked document indicates that a specialized wing of Turkey’s Scientific and Technological Research Council, dubbed SAGE, has been charged by the country’s defence ministry with prototyping and testing of the new weapon following a high level defence committee meeting in 2013. Current status of the project is unknown, but the fact that the news surfaced while Russia accused Ukraine of illegally selling its missile technology to Turkey and a number of other countries has raised eyebrows.
Turkey is known for keeping its more advanced weapon systems classified for many years.
A thermobaric weapon is a type of explosive that utilizes oxygen from the surrounding air to generate an intense, high-temperature explosion, and in practice the blast wave such a weapon produces is typically significantly longer in duration than a conventional condensed explosive. The specific weapon Turkey is working on is presumed to be a fuel-air bomb, one of the most well-known types of thermobaric warheads..
These cause considerably more destruction than other similar explosives when used in lower altitudes or inside confined environments such as tunnels, caves, and bunkers.
The new thermobaric warhead is likely to be aircraft deliverable, but it is also expected that Turkey will make them an option on its growing inventory of surface-to-surface missile systems.

Hakan'dan onceki Türk moderatorü bendim, hukukumuz eskiye dayanır. O anlamıştır benim neyi kastettiğimi. :)

Exactly, Afghanistan and along with test ranges across US was like a testbed for US thermobaric weapon developments. It showed extreme good results against terrorists hiding in fortified structures when FAE devices are used. As we know that BTÖs caves generally have two terminals to avoid the bomb blast waves to reach BTÖ members hiding inside caves.

Hukuku anladim da, konu ben oldugum icin bana da hak dogdu :)

In the last 10 years Türkiye made a huge progess, 10 years ago such an air strike was even not imaginable

If you watch the recently from General Staff released Videos from the air attacks you can see them in action

@gokkyoffical The Video you published seems not a Baby it's already a "real bitch"

Konyada askeri tatbikat alanındaki patlama korkuttu 26.09.2012 now we have 2015

That's the reason why we don't Need NUKES, only "Tactical Nukes" as a deterrence against bandit states like Iran with "Dirty Nukes" or " Syria with Chemicals";

those we have and they will not lead to Armageddon and will protect us !

So the reason why Turkey shouldn't have Nukes is Turks are scared of the going off of their own weapons?

And what happens when an Israeli dumbnut wants to throw you a nuke; are they allowed to?
