Turkish Defence Industry Exports & Updates

@Zarvan

Brother . Unbelievable.
If the video is true it's an revolution in ballistic and combat protection.
No kinetic impact after (absorbation ?) shooting 9mm bullet makes me wondering.
Kinetics would have kicked the target at least 1 meter away. Hope that is all true.
For sake of our Brother/Sister countries.

Yes it could be revolutionary, to add more protection more plastic layers could be added for little to no weight difference.

Here comes, here comes the Gas Turbine Engines! :cheesy:

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE INDUSTRY
WIDE AREA R&D CALL ANNOUNCEMENT

R&D Subject: Domestic Alloy Development

Purpose:
It is aimed to determine the projects related to the subject by evaluating the talents, competencies and R & D project proposals of the local firms / institutions / organizations.

Extent:

Domestic Alloy Wide Area Call will include production of aerospace grade stainless steel (AISI 321) and nickel based superalloy (Inconel 718). For the production of these alloys, vacuum induction melting (VIM), recrystallization under slag (ESR) and re-melting under vacuum (VAR) processes have to be used. It is aimed to use the produced alloys in the manufacture of critical parts of gas turbine engines.

In addition, domestic alloy development proposals for titanium (UNS R56400 in accordance with AMS 4928 and AMS 4991 standards) and ballistic steels for armored vehicles (MIL-DTL-46100E, MIL-DTL-12560J etc.) will also be considered for aviation applications.

Technology Issues:
Improvement of UNS N07718 nickel-based superalloy according to AMS 5662 standard and according to ASTM-F-3055 standard.
Development of UNS S32100 stainless steel according to AMS 5645 standard

Scope of application:
