Rusya devleti silah ihracat şirketi Rosoboronexport Başkanı Aleksandr Miheyev, S-400 savunma sistemleri için müzakereler yürüten Türkiye’nin, tank koruma sistemlerine, silah ve mühimmatlara da ilgi gösterdiğini açıkladı.

Rosoboronexport” Genel Müdürü Aleksandr Miheyev, “Türkiye, Rosoboronexport’un büyük değer verdiği ortaklar arasında. Askeri-teknik işbirliği alanında her iki ülkenin karşılıklı çıkarlarına hizmet eden projeler konusunda temaslarımızı sürdürüyoruz. Ankara özellikle Rusya yapımı çeşitli menzilli hava savunma sistemlerine, aktif ve pasif tank koruma sistemlerine, ateşli silahlar ile mühimmatlarına, Milli Savunma Bakanlığı ile İçişleri Bakanlığı’nın gereksinimlerini karşılayacak özel araç ve gereçlere ilgi duymaktadır” dedi.

Akkor is ready in 2020. But still we ask for active protection?
What does it makes so urgent for 2 years?

Are you serious? Are you aware we have tanks in Syria right now?
I didn't mean it like that. It's about giving a critic tech to another.

I meant it on a positive way. If Russia is ready to make a deal thats great for us and i don't think any other country is willing to do so at the moment.

Im sure its not Syria. If so it should have been done before. Not after...

For the APS I don't think we need the tech, we just need something available ASAP so we can protect our soldiers in Syria from ATGMs. We already have the tech (better tech actually) in Akkor, it just takes a long time to test and refine it, build a production line, and also to modify it so it works with our older tanks.

But you're right, we should have done it before, not after. Doesn't take a genius to know ATGMs are a big risk in Syria. Having said that, at that time Russia wouldn't have sold us these APS systems, so I don't know, maybe they couldn't find a place to buy them from?

A T-14 Armata tank turret, with active protection system

Rosoboronexport expresses its desire to renew full-fledged military and technical cooperation with Turkey. The first practical step towards strengthening bilateral ties in the area is to become Rosoboronexport’s participation in IDEF’17, an International Defense Industry Fair to take place in Istanbul on May 9-12.

“Turkey is one of Rosoboronexport’s crucial partners. We are in consultations on a number of the most promising defense projects of mutual benefit. Ankara is particularly interested in Russian AD systems of various ranges, active and passive tank protection equipment, as well as small arms and ammunition for them, and special gear for the Ministries of National Defense and Interior,” said Rosoboronexport’s CEO Alexander Mikheev.

IDEF ranks among 10 largest defense industry exhibitions in the world and is one of the most prominent arms show in Europe. It is a biennial event aimed at displaying modern defense technologies and various equipment in the defense industrial domain, as well as cutting-edge military systems delivered for export in the world market.

Rosoboronexport has been coming to IDEF since 1995. Its specialists are resolved to fulfill a rather extensive business program on the sidelines of the exhibition. They expect to meet government officials, representatives of the Armed Forces and business community of Turkey and other countries.

Never underestimate Turks. For me is embedded code important. Most systems have ARM hardware and others, that's the important

I didn't underestimate, I just asked which low level programming language defense companies use, I found the answer. Some moderator deleted my post, 'low level' isn't an insult it's a technical term.

turns out they use ADA, looks like a good language to learn for embedded systems, safety critical systems in particular. although not easy for a beginner. Anyone here that knows it?
