"Akar said Turkey's own sufficiency rates have almost reached 70 percent;"

I'm wondering when they announce the percentage are they considering just their needs ( as a country exclusively ) or are they considering the entire military industry as a whole ??

For example armed industries can make bombers which turkey dont need nor currently manufactures so When he says 70 percent does he recognize that bombers are among the 30% yet to be conquered or the 30 percent is just what the country needs without bombers and if so what does turkey still need ???

All I think of is domestic engines
Fighter aircraft ( TFX mainly )
And whatever parts that are imported in their domestic production

Good question. In general, they mean the needs of its countries.

Peki hesaplanırken parça sayısına mı bakılıyor yoksa fiyat üzerinden mi?
Örneğin ordunun ihtiyacı on parça. Yüzde yetmiş derken 10 parçanın 7 tanesini mi biz yapıyoruz yoksa harcanan paranın yüzde yetmişi ülke içinde mi kalıyor?
Please think more before writing, of course it is about money

The new BMC 4x4 Sahin , 640 of them will be exported to Qatar. Total export number with other type of vehicles (7 tons ,various config) will be 1500

  • Atak deal with brother Pakistan contains UMTAS-L missiles as well
  • Turkey and Pakistan talks for ATG missiles. Both state reached serious level on meetings regarding OMTAS missiles. Firing trials will be held in Pakistan in 2019.
  • To tank upgrade, Both state negotiate to integrate Turkish reactive armors for Pakistani tanks. Some trials have been performed in Turkey. Pakistan will test Turkish armor in Pakistan as well.

Pakistan always shows interest, request trials for almost all defence programs Turkish industry has been developing. No important even if They are in their early stages. When they sure about their performance, They put a sign on deal to honour their Turkish brothers. Turkey should also honour this brother state with offering impressive ToT. We did it with Milgem deal and I think Turkey and Pakistan will join into a serious collaboration when Hisar and Siper SAM system have been completed.

The SAM cooperation would be a dream come true. Siper and Hisar-A/O/G/U will nicely complete Pakistan's Sam Network and if there is transfer of technology it will give Pakistan's munitions and defense electronics industry a generational leap.

But Turkish Industry should actually take initiative and Aselsan, Havelsan, Roketsan, BMC and other Turkish Military Industrial giants should start operations in Pakistan. The PTI Government is gearing up to start SEZs, Turkish Industry can take advantage of this opportunity and cement their presence in Pakistan. Pakistan, despite a short term economic crunch that will last 2-3 years, is likely to have a defence budget surpassing $10 Billion soon. Hundreds of millions of dollars of business, if not billions is available for turkish OEMs

Turkey’s domestic UAV engine sees demand from abroad

521

Turkey's first national unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) engine PD-170, designed and produced by TUSAŞ Engine Industries Inc. (TEI), has received its first requests from abroad.

TEI General Manager Mahmut Faruk Akşit said overseas export of the turbo diesel aerospace engine, which was designed for the ANKA drone and made its first flight in December, is on the agenda.

"We have received requests from two different countries," he said.

Akşit described the product as the "national engine," emphasizing that it was completely developed by TEI engineers over a three-to-four year period and manufactured using supplies made in Turkey, with the exception of a few shelf products.

"Our engine is the best of its class. I say this clearly and proudly," he said.

The PD-170 engine, developed under the Operative UAV Engine Development Project, is designed for UAVs like Turkey's domestic ANKA – mid-altitude, long-flying drones weighing 1,500-2,000 kilos.

Akşit explained that the new engine allows UAVs to perform at a higher level than competitors engines do – enabling drones to see farther and fly longer at current altitudes – thanks to increased horsepower power and exceptional fuel consumption for its power/weight ratio.

The PD-170 delivers 170-horsepower at an altitude of 20,000 feet. At a maximum altitude of 40,000 feet, the engine still delivers 90 hp, comparable to competitors' horsepower at 30,000 feet.

The engine also consumes less fuel than its competitors, according to Akşit.

"At 30,000 feet, it consumes 11 percent less fuel than its best competitor. It allows UAVs to do more useful tasks," he said.

According to Akşit, TEI has developed a special vacuum test device that allows engineers to test the engine at -55 degrees Celsius in an environment mimicking 30,000 feet altitude.

TEI is looking to decrease dependence on foreign sources while enabling domestic production of engine systems and increasing the percentage of indigenous production in these projects.

I am thinking the two countries could very well be Qatar and Indonesia ?

No one of two, specially Qatar. Indonesia do not have a project going on, a tender which they will choose Turkish or Chinese uav. Should come with a country who have uav flying or have started a project.

Algerian army has Yabhoon drones, they fly with rotax, if they want more performans may be?
