Boeing Delivers Second AEW&C Aircraft to Turkey
ANKARA — Boeing has delivered the second aerial early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft to Turkey, the company announced. It said the delivery was made on schedule.

The AEW&C aircraft arrived at Konya Air Base, the fleet’s main operating base.

The first AEW&C aircraft under the Peace Eagle program was delivered Jan. 31, and a third will be delivered later this year. Boeing is scheduled to deliver the final aircraft for the program in 2015.

In addition to the four aircraft, the Peace Eagle program includes ground support segments for mission crew training, mission support and system maintenance. Turkish Aerospace Industries, Turkish Airlines, Havelsan and Mikes are key suppliers on the program.

The AEW&C is based on the Boeing 737-700 commercial jet. Australia and South Korea also operate the AEW&C platforms.

JAWTEX-2014 (Joint Air Warfare Tactical Exercise-2014) Tatbikatı Almanya'nın ev sahipliğinde Türkiye'ye ilave olarak Avusturya, Fransa, Finlandiya, Hollanda, İtalya, İsviçre, Macaristan, Norveç, Slovenya, Yunanistan ve NATO Hava Unsurlarının katılımıyla 08-23 Mayıs 2014 tarihleri arasında Wittmund Hava Üssü / Almanya'da icra edilecektir.

2. Tatbikatın maksadı; birlikleri müşterek harekât ortamında faaliyetlerini icra edebilecek şekilde eğitmek ve çok uluslu kuvvet yapısı içerisinde iş birliği ve birlikte çalışabilirliği geliştirmektir.

3. Türkiye tatbikata Hava Kuvvetleri Komutanlığına ait beş adet F-16 uçağı ile katılım sağlayacaktır.
