Will it permit the Turkish government to charge fees for vessels passing through the Bosphorus? I was in Istanbul last week (for the first time) and heard the driver saying it.

Most huge projects have a strategical political background. A strong country can only go hand in hand with a strong Economy and strong Military. The last severe attacks are made to destabilize Türkiye and block its Future!

It was just a matter of time untl Turkey with it's Sunni arab allies removed the shias from Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and finally took care of Iran. Turkey together With Saudi Arabia etc would rule the Middle East.

But Russia is trying to change all that, I think Russia is really against us becoming stronger because Iran is like it's only ally in the galaxy (the chinese just pretend they don't ally with others on a personal level)

I think USA actually wants a strong Sunni Middle East... Think about it, USA still has nukes in Turkey + radar etc.. it will do anything to stop Russia growing. And we would never be a real threat to USA we would be strong like germany + uk + france together.

How can the Othuman Empire return when there is no ancestor of them involved?

There may be a resurgence of Turkish dominance or expansion perhaps to secure energy resources, but not in 2023. Perhaps later around 2040 we can see a Turkish "Empire" start again with it expanding back into the middle east for energy resources.

The world is going through another historical "cycle". New and old empires will rise and fall.

I can't help but think what is going on around Turkey now has to do with the treaty of lousanne which expires in 2023, it will give Turkey legal right to take oil fields in north Iraq and some parts of North Syria and Thrace in Greece.

First during the previous Saudi King Era he fought Muslim Brotherhood with all his power till he managed with his allies in Gulf countries and traitors in Egypt to make a coup , anyway .. it's known that Erdogan belong to MB he always Defended morsi etc... now with the new king he brought a new policy with him , trying to forget the past and building a strogn sunni Alliance , Sisi knew that so he began to get close with Russia (even he always say we will always defend gulf against any attack , but not one trusts him) .. I can't see a big alliance in the near future between Saudia and Turkey .. that will piss sisi so much and gulf count on the Egyptian Army so much against any attack.

You may agree or disagree with Erdogan, but by being there for a week, I could tell you that Turkey has witnessed some notable economic prosperity in the last decade. That's what gets respect at the end of the day, the wealth of the nation and how long it can keep the economic development going.

Why remove Shias? Why not just embrace them? We need to stay united.

Saudi and Erdogan gang has reallly close ties, Abdullah Gul was for instance head of a bank in Saudi Arabia in the past. A lot going on we don't know about. I think the turkish economy owes a lot of it's growth to Saudi, Qatar etc.

Because Saudi and Qatar etc will fund the whole thing and they don't take kindly to Shia/Iran, Turkey however doesn't really care much about Sunni/Shia.

Colonial Era treaties wont influence the 21st century. Take Pakistan for example, there was a treaty between the English and the Kingdom of Afghanistan in the past about national borders. Once it expired (in the 90s i think), half of Pakistan was supposed to be ceded to Afghanistan. Nothing of that sort happened of course.

Theres a difference, our western side of Pakistan would never ever in their sane minds want to join Afghanistan, while most of the Islamic world is looking forward for unification even if it has to start with a revolution.

What Islamic? There was no democratic process involved. Please stop trying to falsify history. The first four Caliphs were all based on popular support and almost "understood" succession after the prophet. Right after the fourth the whole system had already descended into nepotism. Please stop trying to spread usual Hizb-ut-Tahrir type lies here. Every Caliph after Abu Bakr(RA) was based less on popularity and more on internal politics and nepotism.

Thanks to you, I don't believe Turkey became wizards in economy just because of Erdogan and his friends.

We have seen how good friends Erdogan and his friends are to the Saudi King and so on, I'm sure Saudi and Qatar has something to win as well besides weakining Iran.

I think the Saudi actions in Egypt has more to do with Israel/USA's wishes.

They don't want a new 6 day war between Israel and Egypt which is very likely with extreme muslims in power in Egypt.

The previous saudi king feared the alliance between Morsi and Erdogan so he tried so hard to get rid of Morsi.

The current King is better than the previous , he wants to repair what the previous has damaged .. more ties with Turkey and trying to fix the problem with Muslim Brotherhood.
