113 meters I-class Frigate is small
but STM's concept design TF-4500 class new generation stealth Frigate ( 150 meter armed with 32 cells VLS for SIPER long range SAM and GEZGIN LACM ) and 16x ATMACA anti ship Missiles for 2030s







as of 2018 no official project but ERDOGAN will rule Turkey until 2029 and I believe that We will see Carrier Battle Group between 2030 and 2035

in 2030s Turkey will have money,technology and vision to create Carrier Battle Group to protect national interests on the high Seas

It would be smarter to invest "possible" aircraft carrier money in more Warships/Submarines and a next level Air/Naval base on Cyprus.

With a Military base on Cyprus Turkey controls the Eastern Mediterranean.
And i think two LHD's with F-35B's on it are more than enough for Greece and other countries in the region.

If all goes well (and God knows there's a high probability it wont) by 2030 Turkey will be the de-facto power in the eastern Mediterranean sea. Like you've said, Cyprus + the LHD's and various other air defense systems and naval assets in the area will be more then enough for this as it is.

With the introduction of the TF2000 and a newer frigate model (something along the lines of the 150m+ frigate linked above) we will now have the capability to project power further then our current borders. To do this we'll need a proper carrier GROUP that needs to be a mobile army of it's own.

But that alone wont be enough of course, you'll also need troops on the ground. Well considering we're not thinking about invading anyone, the only other way to get your troops on the ground around countries you want to "persuade" to your point of view is to build military bases there.

Now take a look at where Turkey is concentrating it's newer foreign military bases.

When you piece all of this together it looks like we're trying to make sure that around 2030 - 2040 we're the REGIONAL de-facto power around the horn of Africa (I said regional, I'm not adding the USA or China to this comparison).

Another point;

I believe that the world won't be "multipolar" as people lately have been saying. I think we'll still have a bipolar world with VERY strong mid powers that are partly immune to these huge superpowers and at the same time hugely influential in their region. Inline with this in mind;

Think about Russia. Today Russia is still a force to be reckoned with. But it's been steadily on the decline both militarily and economically. In the next 20 years China and US will probably surpass it in every meaningful way and be the new leaders of the bipolar world. If we can gear up and expand our influence around Russia by that time we actually have a shot at being the "middle" world power. So another carrier group around the north sea and even more naval assets in the Black Sea is not in the realm of impossible to think of when it comes to Turkey.

Then again, this all rides on the assumption that we can deal with our shit and get back on track. If we continue this economic decline we'll be lucky to be able to have a say in what goes in our backyard by then.
