Turkey is really ambitious to have one of the best defence industry (Quality based) and technology hub of own region. The number of defence projects are incredible, around 600 right now and Those are just government funded projects. I mean Number doesn't contains the individual R&D activities of national institutes. Many of those projects are not even known by public and highly strategic component, subsystem projects. Once a project commenced related with a technological field, The rest having connection with this field are being projected immediately under family integrity principle and Institute climb the ladders slow but steady steps to reach the top !

The Surface to air missile systems are very famous in those days because of the conflicts taking in Syria so I will give example for Turkish SAM projects to summarize the subject I have told above !

All are being proceeded simultaneously. Navy requested SAM missiles to integrate nationally designed warships and It is also agreed to integrate Hisar-A/O/U variant missile (Navalized variants) to frigate/destroyer projects. To integrate them on ships, National vertical Launch system project is also commenced.

Later, AirForce requested a medium range long altitude SAM missile to replace I-HAWK system and so Hisar-N missile system based on Hisar-O(RF) is projected as well.
