You got it all wrong...actually many of my closest friends here are turks...
But some of the turks in this forum seem to be living in a fantasy pan-turkish imaginary world...

Take some responsibility:
[/url]
Responsbility? Why not begin with Iran? Did Iran not support Armenians massacring Azeri and today Iran still supports Armenia against Azerbaijani? Armenia is occupying Azerbaijan according to international law and Iran support them. Do you still insist all 25 million Azeri in Iran are on friendly terms with Persians? The collective mind of Azerbaijani never forgets. Keep making enemies, the only thing Iran is good in. When Iran gets bombed and opportunity presents itself, they will take action. And I don't even mention Iran supporting terrorism against Turks and Arabs. Forget taking responsibility, we will make you take responsibility.

Bust most of the time in recent history, Iran was ruled by foreigners, so there is a big disconnection and there is even the question you have any legacy left of old Persians.

If anything recent empires such as Seljuk, Karaqokun, Safavid and other Turkic dynasties added influence to Azerbaijan and its legitimacy to the land rather than Persians who are disconnected from their past and desperately trying to get a place in the middle-east making enemies with everything that has two legs.

safavind were multi-ethnic from kurdish Iranic descent. Most scholars and historians agree on this today.

The Safavid Kings themselves claimed to be Seyyeds, family descendants of the prophet Muhammad, although many scholars have cast doubt on this claim. There seems now to be a consensus among scholars that the Safavid family hailed from Persian Kurdistan, and later moved to Azerbaijan, finally settling in the 11th century CE at Ardabil. Traditional pre-1501 Safavid manuscripts trace the lineage of the Safavids to Kurdish dignitary, Firuz Shah Zarin-Kulah

I would ignore trolls like this guy!

Iran is a nation state with a strong sense of history and identity. You can get this fact confirmed from talking to ANY Iranian anywhere in the world.

Even when we were ruled by foreigners, the rulers were minority and didn't change our culture or language . They were always extremely Persianate society.

They all kept our culture in tact, because Persian culture was much more superior than anything they brought to Iran.

Look at Mongols, when they invaded Iran, not only did they adapt our religion, hey also adapted our language. Hazaras are great example. So eventually the conqueror became conquered.

Turks was never ruled by Persians.

On that same Wikipedia page it said the opposite two weeks ago. It was probably changed by a Persian from his frustration.

The entity Turkey was not ruled by Persia in the recent history, but the Persian Empire extended over and included the land what is known as Turkey today. Moreover, the entire Turkic-language area of central asia was either directly ruled by Persia occasionally or were under its physical and cultural control. The Court language in the Central Asian countries was Persian.

Turkic people were nomadic without a strong root to the land, whereas Persia and Persians remained anchored in today's Iran for many centuries.

BTW, here's something to read about Azerbaijani Turki in the Safavid times: An Error Occurred Setting Your User Cookie

And here's from Prof. Minorsky: http://s019.radikal.ru/i609/1302/6a/bfb6f8b2c482.png

"The Formation of the Safawid Empire
Safawid rule over Persia is conventionally dated from Shah Isma'ils capture of Tabriz in the aftermath of his victory over the Aq-Qoyunlu ruler Alwand at Sharur in 907/1501. But there was still a very long way to go before Isma'il could be regarded as anything more than a potential successor to the Aq-Qoyunlu in Azarbayjan. Nor, for some years, was the geographical shape of the new state by any means clear. It may be that Isma'il's expectation was that he would be able to set up an essentially Turkmen empire after the Aq-Qoyunlu pattern, consisting of eastern Anatolia, Azarbayjan, westem Persia and Iraq. After all, the military following on which he depended was Turkmen in composition, he had fixed his capital at Tabriz, the now traditional Turkmen centre on the periphery of Persia proper, and he may have seen himself as in some sense the legitimate successor to his Aq-Qoyunlu grandfather, Uzun Hasan. The direction of Isma'ill's early campaigns certainly suggested that it was the Turkmen heritage he was primarily interested in."

"In 1501 Ismail, the leader of a Shiite religious group the Safavids, became Shah of Persia. Ismail was ethnically Turkish, as therefore was the Safavid dynasty that he now founded. His accession to power and the establishment of his family on the throne reignited the border wars between the rulers of Iran and those of the Middle East."

"The Safavid threat to the Ottomans was rendered at once more acute and more intimate by the Turkish origin of the Safavid family and their extensive support in Turkish Anatolia. It is ironic that in the increasingly angry correspondence between the two monarchs that preceded the outbreak of hostilities, the sultan wrote to the shah in Persian, the language of urban, cultivated gentlemen, while the Shah wrote to the Sultan in Turkish - the language of his rural and tribal origins."

Look you Bangladeshi, when there was the Achaemenid whatever its called, Turkish people did not live in that region so shut up and read history and don't talk to me about history like you know anything.

Very informative post. Thanks for sharing.

Achaemenid isn't the only Iranian empire, Einstein. You have the Median, Achaemenid, Parthian, Sassanid, Samanid, Scythian, Sarmatian, Alanians, Massagetae empires.

Nobody sees Iranians as suicide bombers, as you can't name me one Iranian suicide bomber. And Iran is not a desert.

And Turkey is not your country. Central Asia is.

Yes that suicide bomber in Taiwan which exploded in his hand.

You continously got defeated. Winning a war is different getting invaded and ruled is different.
