Turkey to Bangladesh: Open your doors to Rohingya Muslims, we'll cover all expenses

We are not a super power. Not an aspiring one either. What happens outside our border should not be our concern. And the stance is about national interest. Its not to send a message to anyone or to intimidate Myanmar.

Bangladesh shares a border with Burma and what is happening over there is on our doorstep. And I'm pretty sure that qualifies as a concern under something called common sense. And it has nothing to do with trying to become a 'superpower'.

And we are doing that. Do you want the govt to announce that Rohingyas welcome. So that Myanmar can push them back with more force?

Albeit in bad conditions. I'm not even sure if that qualifies as refugee. It doesn't matter what they announce. They will use more force in the future. It is not that there are no options for Bangladesh. You have to understand that they are a stubborn people with a very tribal and a brutal mindset.

Sorry we are no martial race. Neither BD army is Pak army. What do you want the govt to do? Declare war on Myanmar? Is it worth burning your own house with other's fire?

Race doesn't determine a warrior. It takes a lot to become one, yes. But for one to become sheep, it doesn't take much. And we all know what ultimately happen to sheep.

So I would say again. Cooperate with the international community for dealing with the influx. Bangladesh will need help. And if the Burmese see it as a way of dumping unwanted people, so what? What are you so afraid of? That you'd look weak in front of a bunch of savages? What would that make you in turn?

Surely, we cannot control the civil war that is raging in Rakhine. And neither should we intervene. No one should. But we can do what is right.

Bombing Myanmar to stone age would knock some sense into them. BD should provide some airfields to Turkey for this effort. Myanmar only strength is its ground forces. Its Air forces and Navy doesn't stand a chance against an opponent like Turkey backed by BD and other Regional Muslim powers.

If BD and Turkey can persuade other Muslim countries to stand united this would be ideal.

Rohingya women, elderly and young will be allowed shelter in BD while the men are trained and armed
to fight the Myanmar army. They would be helped by specialist forces from BD with armour, artillery and snipers.

Muslim world, including BD at this moment, seems too pathetic for this hope to come true.

Some folks here were saying that if we give formal refuge to the Rohingyas, it would translate into some sort of 'surrender' that the Burmese can freely dump unwanted populations into 'poor Bangladesh'. This isn't the case.

All I'm saying is that we should gather as much information about that country. Know everything about them. The terrain, the climate, and what advantages they offer (tactical and strategic ones), particularly the bordering regions. And most importantly, the people, their psychology. This, while accepting them as refugees with international coordination and support. It is very important that we have a plan before trouble breaks (if not already).

I know you love Bangladesh and want it to be strong. I respect that. We could use more of that. About 17 years ago, there were foreign militants on Bangladeshi soil and we didn't give much bother. One larger country suspected support. It didn't end too well for Bangladesh I'm afraid. If you don't what I'm talking about here, then you don't know yourself.

We want a lot of things in life. But, we need to be realistic. We cannot control the civil war raging there.

You can however, help by calling out to the UK government to persuade the Bangladeshi government to help those poor people in distress. And yes, something is not quite right here either.

Arming Rohingyas is not the same as what happened with India. Myanmar is nowhere near as powerful as India is.

Unless the Rohingya can fight back, they will be all wiped out from Myanmar.
Surely labelling their citizens as BD'shi and pushing them into BD is tantamount to an act of war against BD?

I am not saying attack Myanmar now as we all know that pathetic Hasina has not even
built the BAF to be the equal of MAF. BD is poor but it is far richer than Myanmar and should at the least have military parity with them. In the end the only thing that will make these savages behave is the military option.
Diplomacy won't work as they are not normal like most countries are.
