The authors basically blame Erdogan for the whole mess. He thought he could US to his will, that he could have his cake and eat it too.

Don't expect the problem to get better with Biden. Erdogan didn't have good relations with Obama and I doubt it will be any better under Biden.

Yeh I read @Tipu7 tweet so it's a great news if it's correct

Don't believe my words till u see things in actuality.
There are always lobbying groups involved, pushing for different solutions for same problem. The advocators of T129 as well as Z10 exist in Army as both systems have advantages and disadvantages of their own.
Hopefully either officials will break the news (as they did in VT4 case) or we have to wait till 23rd March.

Issue has been resolved. We are getting T 129. Z 10 not happening.

Issue hasn't been resolved and this news is the final nail in the coffin for T-129 prospects in Pakistan. Yes ISPR said something else few months back but with these new sanctions, its pretty much the end unless Biden administration overturns the sanctions quickly which seems unlikely.

Explanation of Turkish Sanctions

1- It is a well established , that USA/Israeli ambition in region is to weaken the states / militaries in region in favor of Judaic Israel

2- It is well established , that there have been plans and processes planned since 1970's which have existed and were executed
in period between 2003-2015

3- Under the planned process , Iraq-Iran were weakened in 1980's

4- Iran has been continuously weakened economically

5- In Last 15 years Syria / Libya were targeted which operated a unique distinct voice and military

6- Turkey being a Muslim State was spared temporarily because taking on 4-5 Countries like Iran-Iraq-Syria-Turkey would have have been too much of challenge so the problem was broken down over 30-40 years


Who opposed the move of US embassy to Israel ? The answer is very clear why Turkey has sanctions it is not due to S-300


The retaliation against Turkey did not materialized immediately after their strong reaction against US announcement to move Embassy to Israel , Turkey I believe was quite clear , but rather a slow turtle like pace was adopted to make it seem that the sections are not tied to Beloved Israel

So far Turkey has made one blunder after the other---. It should have bowed its head down to make the F35 deal---. It was not very intelligent of the Turks to butt heads with the US ahead of time---.

I think turkey already sense US decision to isolate Turkey from high tech military. Even Turkey received the F-35, there will be many restriction while US will never place that kind of restriction on western NATO countries. Turkey will end up getting a half botch F-35 and no proper AD system.

You just never know but unlike T-129, there hasn't been any word on it which do indicate that there hasn't been any show stopper for PN MILGEM program as of yet

No it's not the indigenous engine. That is at least three years away.
