Turkey now has best SAM in the ME. Syria and Iran only got S-300PM2. Turkey got S-400 formerly called S-300PM3.

Hisar missile family (Low, Medium, Medium+), G40, G40+, Siper Long Altitude SAM, PORSAV missiles. When those national SAM missiles became operational, Turkey will be the one who has one of the best SAM protection coverage in whole Europe as well.

National Low Altitude (AIR), Early Warning Long Range(EIR) and Very Long range (YIR) radars will be operated under same national umbrella called HERIKKS. Very short range protection of those systems will be done by Korkut CIWS and POrSAV MANPADS systems.

Because Kornet is expensive. Kornet is laser guided. Costs like 100 grand USD each. Missiles built in Turkey are much cheaper and contributes to Turkey economy. Buying Kornet from Russia to supply to NLF which is a pretty useless army costs billions of USD which hurts Turkey economy which is already in bad shape.

come on S400 is great choice it will open a gate way not just a way but a gate way for you to starts your own S400 we spend 12 years to get a system better then 300 PMU 2 but you could skip a lot of that maybe you can not build 5 gen fighter any time soon but with this system surely you can build some thing that can take them down for next 10 years even more.

1 - This is good news for Pakistan, both of Pakistan best allies, China and Turkey operate the S400 system. Means, we can look to develop strategies and systems to counter this platform

2 - I am not convinced that this is the best decision for Turkey. Sometimes, Pride gets infront of the right decision. Overall, Turkey will lose more than it gains from this decision. The Americans will react, that is 10000% guaranteed. I think Turkey will come to regret this decision once the full costs of it are layed out.

Turkey has the right to do what it wants, when it wants for its "National Interests". However, other countries (eg USA ) ALSO have the right to do what it wants, for its "National Interests". The S400 will comprimise the F35 platform, so Turkey will lose access to that platform, its investments in that platform, and potentially access to future technology developments programmes with USA. So, overall, Turkey will lose out.. even when "National Turkish Pride" has been satisfied..

Turkey reverse engineered Kornet missile bought from Russia and supplied thousands of these to NLF. Turkey cannot reverse engineer S-400 by itself. Turkey will have to send S-400 to America to reverse engineer it and then mass produce it to shoot Russians in Syria with S-400.

Russians are not so stupid . US ousted Turkey from F35 project . Perhaps sanctions are coming soon . If Turks do this , will Russia or US trust them in future ?
