The 5th Main Maintenance Center of Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) is the unique organization in Turkey where maintenance overhaul, modernization, and modification of helicopters and their parts are performed.

The center is ranked 9th in the world in terms of helicopter treatment and maintenance, and has very high standards. Damaged choppers are practically rebuilt, almost as if from scratch.

The center provides several benefits such as maintenance and renovation of helicopters and aircraft, with their subunits of technical assistance, oil analysis, material manufacturing, and examination processes for corporations.

More than 1000 employees

The center, settled on 242,000 square meters of space, is the place which defense industry companies from the US and Europe are watching with admiration.

There are more than 1,000 employees working in the center, including army personnel and engineers.

Provide service to 123 corporations

The center has been working on helicopters and their subunits for more than 60 years, collaborating with various state and civil organizations and corporations besides the Turkish Armed Forces on a variety of projects.

The center provides service for the maintenance, overhaul, modernization, and modification of helicopters.

Today, there are 123 organizations and corporations that the center provides service for, including Turkish Airlines, Cyprus Turkish Airlines (KTHY), 19 public corporations and 104 civil organizations.

The only authorized service provider for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation out of US

Turkey selected Sikorsky as its partner to lead production of the country’s next-generation utility helicopters.

The facility is the only authorized service provider with U.S.-based Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation in the world.

Center has many award-winning projects

The center has many award-winning projects on helicopters. The center produced an “Ice Prevention Device” for the Sikorsky S-70 Black Hawk, which makes it easy to fly in freezing weather. It also has a “Day and Night Camera Tester” for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), as well as “Laser Designator” and “Ambulance Helicopter” projects.

TL 2 million saving in a year

The “Day and Night Camera Tester” developed for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in order to increase the maintenance activities saves the country TL 2 million each year.

It is going to be in Izmir.

And it is a heavy F-135 maintenance center, the engine maintenance center of Europe. We will maintain engines of F-35's of whoever have them in EU.

But, as for general maintenance, all the participants of JSF Project will have that capability.

Kale Group will be the firm that will do the engine maintenance in Izmir and the facility is right now being built and necessary tech transfers are being done between Lockheed Martin and Kale Group.

TAI will be the firm that will be doing the general maintenance of the F-35's we will get.

Totally agreed. I don't know why some of us muslims have a problem in the bum when it comes to adopting secularism at home. If the current war against terrorism and the misuse of the blasphemy law proves anything its that religion can be used and exploited by dangerous people.

There is also no way to decide what is "real Islam" which these people want to implement. Is beard allowed, is purdah compulsory-people will have daul or multiple opinions about these. For example when ideals clash what to do. For example difference between sufism and wahabism, shia sunni... its better to leave religion as a personal choice. Also it is not necessary that Islam will fall completely at the gates of secularism. Secularism is exactly that muslims, christians, shias and ahmedis all can worship freely without trouble or being heckled. The first person to suggest secularism was Ibn Rushd or Averoes. His theories on secularism later became the law of all Europe.

Its sad in 1947 we found a nation in the ideal that muslims be free to practice their faith and now we are taking that right away from minorities.

I have met many Ahmadis who support PML-N and PTI, with a vast number being apolitical. That's because we tried supporting what was supposedly a liberal politician in Bhutto, but even he backstabbed us when pressured by the right wing.

Currently I' say majority of Pakistani Ahmadis, although concerned about Pakistan do not actively support one party or another. We can't vote in Pakistan unless we sign forms accepting we are kafir, as long as those laws exist, no Ahmadi is going to vote. That's a potential 3-4 million votes lost.

Personally, I would vote for any centre left party if given the chance. But the true question, is there any true secular party in Pakistan?
