According to information published by SSB, the Turkish Defense Association, on May 4, 2021, an operational test-fire against high-speed aerial targets was conducted with the Hisar A+ a short/medium-range air defense missile developed and designed by the Turkish company Aselsan.

For the first time, the HISAR-A+ has destroyed a high-speed aerial target in fully autonomous mode using onboard detection radar and missile with increased performances in altitude and range.

The test-fire was performed at the Aksaray Shooting Range on May 3, 2021, and launched from a tracked armored vehicle ACV-30 designed and manufactured by the Turkish company FNSS. The HİSAR is a family of short/medium-range surface-to-air missile systems being developed by the Turkish Companies Aselsan and Roketsan since 2007. The HISAR-A is the short-range version of the HISAR family.

The HISAR-A+ is an upgraded version of the HISAR-A missile which can now destroy aerial targets at a maximum range of 15 km at a maximum altitude of 8 km, with 3 km more than the previous version.

The HISAR-A was jointly developed by three Turkish defense companies including Aselsan for radar, command, and control, and fire control, Roketsan for the missile, and FNSS for the tracked armored platform.

The Hisar-A+ launcher unit is fitted with four missiles ready to fire, with two launcher containers erected vertically on each side of the vehicle in firing position, while in road position, the canisters are stored on the roof of the hull.

The Hisar-A+ mobile platform unit is also equipped with a 3D search radar & IFF (Identification, friend or foe) a radar-based identification system designed for command and control, Infrared Sensors & Laser Range Finder, and Data Link. The Hisar-A can detect aerial threats at a maximum range of 25 km thanks to the radar mounted on the vehicle.

The tracked armored vehicle of HISAR-A mounts its own mast-mounted air surveillance 3D radar and an electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) system, allowing it to operate as an independent standalone system on 360° without the need to operate as a battery with a separate FCS (Fire Control System).

The important thing is to gain this technology and algorithms. As a result, many gains came with it, including double impact engine technology. If it is accepted that the radars will be delivered within this year, it is not a dream to put Siper into service in 2023. However, I think Turkey will not follow the Iranian model, we can see Siper and Siper ER as it is already double impact and will use RF + IIR, so if it gains ABM feature in the future, we can have our own Barak family.

i have some background on Turkish air defense program and maaan you gays are not going in US - Russia or even Iranian way that was on top of my mind i knew you guys are going to work on a new missile platform that looks more like EU systems and there own ways, at the end you can't have apple and the god at the same time, you will get a new system that will get your enemies off guard but you will lose a lot and i mean aloooot of time building that one of the kind system but at that time Iran systems could get a 400-600 km boost in there rang. so it's a give and take road map, Turkey cant reverse engineer anything and that put you behind so i get it you had to sacrifice time over building a new system.

Actually, you don't need to say much because we are already working with Eurosam, the only thing missing is Siper ABM in 3-4 years, so we will need a Pac 3 MSE because we will specifically win an ABM in Eurosam consortium. And I agree with what you said yes, Hisar doesn't look like a specific complete system, the engine shape is Israeli Spyder, the type is more of an Irıs variant, maybe that's why it was so late.

Thats very true. We have finally acquired the necessary technology in this field, but we spent a lot of time. Aside from the gains, this was the main loss.

The same is true for the Altay Tank. In fact, the waste of money and time on the Altay Tank is enormous.

Tor goes maybe further but with a dead speed, other side Hisar have secondary engine in last part of the flight. So ther is not much escape zone for the enemy, a supersonic missile will never be effective burn the fuel before it reach the target.

The latest test of Hisar was 10 km altitude hitting target, you can see in the end dual pulse rocket motor ignite. Hisar will be game changer and no escape possible. Technically Hisar effective range is 15 km, if you want to go further range thats possible but will losing power like that Tor missile. Maybe even 20KM+ with that duel pulse rocket engine.

yes new technology needs alot of time and money to get it right thats why reverse engineering is your best friend when you need a kick jump.

yes i saw the new missile Turkey has fixed it in next versions , the pointer you go the faster you get.

one of the important issue on missile tech is weight,we should make it less heavy than the effective ranges will be changed positive dramatically

isreal and russia are exaggerate their specs, tor is an old chit with new touches, can not be close to hisar,
hisar is passive(seeker) missile while tor is semi active radar(easy to jam)
hisar is dual pulse, tor is not
hisar has latest solid fuel , tor doesnt
probably hisar warhead larger than tor (230 kg vs 167 total masses)
hisar is 1 missile for 1 target, tor is 2 missile for 1 target
hisar range is 15kms for no escape zone(max range should be somewhere over25-30kms) , tor is max range for 16kms
Hisar has latest generation digital command and control station and gadgets while tor got ancient soviet analog radio controlled equipment
